An update on our plan to cease weekly episodes
Posted on 04 Apr 2008 by Andrew
After recording Episode 140 yesterday with two chapters in our Chapter by Chapter segment, we've decided to only do one chapter a week from here on out.

Doing two chapters per episode in a few of our shows have made them very long and cut time for other fun segments that we like to do.

This means that MuggleCast will be running weekly until Episode 152 at the very earliest, and puts us well into late June or early July. We know none of you will be complaining about this, and we're in no rush to halt weekly episodes with how well the shows have been going.

Test this: Decide on future discussions for MuggleCast
Posted on 02 Apr 2008 by Andrew
Amazon has this thing called unSpun. Basically, we create a poll question and then listeners come up with their own answers.

I created one called "Discussion for MuggleCast" that I wanna try out. If you have any idea for a main discussion, go here, and insert it. Then, if listeners like it, they can vote for that idea too. If they don't like, they can come up with their own idea.

See how this could have big potential? Let's try it out. Get over there and start coming up with ideas! This could possibly become a really cool way for fans to choose what we discuss on the show. Keep in mind that it could be a main discussion, a news story, WHATEVER you want!

It was an April Fool's Joke

If you didn't see the post on MuggleNet by now, we have to confess that the announcement on MuggleCast 139 that the show is being branched out into other fandoms was a PRANK.

Some of you weren't fooled, but we did upset many of you. We received e-mails that were pretty lenghty, explaining why it was a really good or really bad idea.

We'll discuss the interesting reactions on Episode 140, due to be released Sunday. See you (well, not really) then!

EDIT: The part about me going to the Twilight set IS real. It timed nicely with the prank.

Two Amazing Doses of MuggleCast
Posted on 16 Mar 2008 by Andrew
In case you've been busy this week and haven't had a chance to keep up with what's going on in MuggleCast world, let's make things clear:

Thursday brought our LIVE episode featuring over 2 hours of discussion concerning the Deathly Hallows film split. It's Episode 136, so be sure to check it out.

Sunday was also a big day for us as we released the first part of MuggleCast and Portus' interview with Potter audiobook reader Jim Dale! This one is Episode 137, so make sure to grab that one as well. Part 2 will be available from Portus very soon.

Two great episodes of MuggleCast in just a few days! We hope you all enjoy, send in your feedback, and check out the Fan Forums. We're sure they'll be going crazy with lots of discussion.

In the words of Borat, "a GREAT SUCCESS!"

Big thanks goes out to everyone who tuned into the live show Thursday night. We definitely set a new record with MuggleCast LIVE - over 1,300 people were listening to our live discussion throughout most of the show!

We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did recording it (so far the feedback is looking great). If you missed the show... no problem! It's already available via the usual ways.

Special thanks to Ustream.tv for hosting us again. They really do an amazing job streaming live content, and we can't thank them enough for their help and support.
