We can't leave you without a small taste of what's to come from the new guide, so here are a few nibbles from the newest installment:

What Did Aunt Petunia's Howler Mean By "Remember My Last"? (Chapter 5 : FAQ)
We know from Chapter 37 {"The Lost Prophecy"} in Book 5, that it was Dumbledore, himself, who sent the Howler. Why didn't Harry recognize his voice? Would Dumbledore have needed to disguise his voice?
Even though the part about Dumbledore's "last" message was a bit cryptic to us readers, Aunt Petunia seemed to know very well what it meant. What communication would that have been? It could have been the letter he left with the baby Harry on their doorstep, which explained their commitment on taking in Harry. But it may not have been. Just to be sure, HP Sleuths may want to investigate exactly when it was that Aunt Petunia and Dumbledore would have "last" communicated. (Hint -- there does appear to be some contact with the Dursleys - for instance in Chapter 5 {"The Whomping Willow"} from Book 2.)
The Petunia Paradox (Chapter 5 : Hint)
What's with Petunia? You couldn't help but notice that she knew a bit more about wizardry than she's been letting on. She even used the (gasp!) "W" word. However, it's not just what she said that got our attention -- it's what she didn't say and how she reacted. There were several other huge clues buried in that scene, the least of which was her highly suspicious, "jerky" explanation about the wizard prison. Consider who was more confused about everything that was going on -- Petunia or Harry?

Why Did Snape Put His Memories Into The Pensieve? (Chapter 28 : FAQ)
When we read about the Pensieve in Book 4, it was unclear whether the "thought" that was placed into the Pensieve was a copy or was actually removed from one's mind. We can now conclude that the memory is physically removed. Another issue, which has yet to be resolved, is how the "memory" is viewed in third-person (you can watch the person whose memory it is). That makes some difference when trying to understand what is "real" vs. what is only stored in memory.
Severus' Memory (Chapter 28 : Clue)
The WWP Sleuthoscope is fuming in indignation, but it will just have to let HP Sleuths work this one out for themselves. How many times did J.K.R. point out it was Severus' memory? What would that mean? How many times did she say that Snape was busy reading. What would that mean? How did everyone address each other? (hem-hem!) Also, what did James write on his paper and what would that have meant? (The meaning's easy -- what you should be asking is how Snape knew?) HP Sleuths may want to review some of Book 3 while looking at this memory since it raises as many questions as its answers.
hint: She (J.K.R.) wanted us to understand that something is from Snape's perspective. It's also worth noting how James, Remus, Sirius and Peter call each other by their Animagi names (Prongs, Moony, Padfoot and Wormtail).- from Chapter 28: "Harry looked anxiously behind him again. Snape remained close by, still buried in his exam questions -- but this was Snape's memory and Harry was sure that if Snape chose to wander off in a different direction once outside in the grounds, he, Harry, would not be able to follow James any further..."
- What is the Meaning of Grawp’s Name? Hagrid relates how Grawp was (gulp) small for a giant. He had been teased and unloved by everyone –- including his own mum. He has a very hard time with words, although as Hermy found out, he does try as best he can. The Harry Potter books address intolerance on all levels and show how much bickering goes on -– even within groups who are suffering at the hands of others. The giants are exiled, without a true home. However, rather than unite and fight together, or unite and work out a contingency plan together, the giants just keep fighting among themselves -– killing each other off.
Grawp is a child of this animosity. His name is highly appropriate in a story about intolerance, and is very sad. When Hagrid asked Grawp his name, it was difficult to understand what the little tyke said -– but we were able to. Fans of classic Trek may have already guessed it, or you can use your Philological Stone if you need help. If you think about the way he was always teased about how small he is, the only words the others ever used to him were: “Grow up!”
Appearances are misleading... and so is what you read. To find out what is really going to happen in the Harry Potter mysteries you need to dig deeper. Hidden clues, secret subplots...there's a lot more happening in Book 5 than a mad Harry and a prophecy orb...
