I believe they really deserve the special effects. Harry Potter is a hard movie to make, and they did an impressive job with it.

ood for them, too bad i cant watch if they win any of the awards. Im from the states to all those who are from overseas. But still, good luck to all of them, POA rules. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite book so when they made the movie I was very excited.

This is the real charlie. And I think POA was a terribly acted and directed movie, very ameteurish. Up for special effects? Like that freeze-frame at the end? Or the hand-cam in the Dursly's house? Wow, if thats the best the british can do for special effects then the importance of these awards is very minimal. Talk about a pat on your own back for a multi-million dollar flop. It was certainly the worst of the three, I thought CoS was pretty good, much better than #3. I am not sure what to think of #4, but the big budget seems promising. Lets hope they deliver this time.

i think HBP could be Hagrid or that Felix Felicis (assuming that is a person -- probs the guy from the extract)

hmm, charlie you don't seem terribly impressed by the film how can you think the 3rd film's the worst did you *see* the basalisk in CoS? and fawkes?
|
|

i think the HBP is Firenze, Hagrid, or Dumbledore ( did she ever say if he's pure-blood?)

films never live up to the books though, take LOTR for example, though aragorn was good ... :P

could be firenze, i doubt its dumbledore though ... he could be a half-blood, but hes important enough as it is

i didnt say it was a bad suggestion, just that i dont think it'll be him, but id rather know whats the half-blood prince's significance? if hes a prince then there has to be a king, and a kingdom! is this going to be like a wizarding royal family? whos guna be prince harry?

hey according to Charlie, Charlie F. is fake

Yes, Alfonso Curaon was a terrible choice for a movie like this. I do not doubt that he is a talented director, but not for this type of movie. Everything was too down to earth in my opinion, what happened to the magical and mysterious part of Harry Potter? There should have been more mystery and intrigue, instead the movie was filled with corny lines from a badly written script, and some particularly bad acting from dan radcliffe. Although I thought Rupert and Emma did a fine job.

Did I see the Basilisk? well it was better than Buckbeak, whom they couldn't decide if they wanted to make a robot of or just use cgi, so it ended up as looking way fake in some scenes and somewhat real in others. And fawkes was fine, just a matter of opinion over how you pictured him from the books. There should be more focus on the school in my opinion, and the teachers like McGonnagal and Snape.

Another thing I thought went all wrong was Divination. What happened to the North Tower and the trapdoor, much less the "hippie" they used for trewlany. That was terrible and should have been cut for sure. How about the ghosts? how about the sir whatever his name was that guarded the gryffindor entrance? There were too many important details either butchered into confusion or left out altogether.

you probably could now as long as he goes by Prince like Ravenclaw suggested

|
| posted by: Ravenclaw(d69) | 01/17 |
I dont think film 3 was the best. I thought the acting was (a little bit) better than the other two but the effects dont deserve an award. I though the bazalisk in COS was better than the warewolf in POA. I also think COS made more sense, and if i hadnt read POA i could have gotten lost in the plot. I know afew people who did get confused. Also POA missed out so many details about Moony Wormtail Padfoot and Prongs!

Good for Harry Potter! Too often have we been left out the BAFTA's because its a childrens movies, in any case us under 18's better be able to vote for these things. Thats often why Harry Potter doesn't scoop these awards in the 'Older Peoples' award ceremonies. One stop BAFTA next stop OSCAR!!!!!
