HBP wins British book of the year award
At tonight's British Book Awards ceremony in London, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was named book of the year. The awards are voted on by the public and Rowling beat out autobiographies by the likes of John Peel and Sharon Osbourne. Jo commented: "I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children." She added that Book 7 was "coming along nicely."

Some photos of JK at the event can be seen over at Getty Images. Thanks to everyone who emailed!

Edit: Thanks to Jenna for sending over some more photos from the event:

Progress on Book 7: CBBC Newsround (to watch a video of their interview, simply click, "Watch Lizo's report" on the right-hand side of the page) spoke to Jo at the event and she had this to say about the final HP book: "I've done a bit. But there's nothing more I can tell you. Everything's a giveaway now." We've heard from another source that so far she has completed writing just over four chapters, but this has yet to be confirmed.
