Spotlight Theory
In the Sorting Hat’s call for unity was another, more specific request - one for friendship between the houses of Slytherin and Gryffindor, and between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Since the former wasn’t realized - the mutual enmity of Snape and Sirius went unresolved - could Harry and Draco be the Gryffindor and Slytherin to unite in friendship in Book 7? Even at the end of HBP, Harry mentioned that he hadn’t forgotten Draco’s lowering his wand on the Astronomy Tower...

JK Rowling says:
On her progress with writing Book 7...
"This always happens. I make a plan, it looks nice and neat, then I get to actually write the book and realise that Harry can't possibly do all that in just one chapter. So what I thought were going to be two chapters have now become four. I still don't think the book will be as long as 'Phoenix', but if that keeps happening... no, it won't. I'm looking at the plan, and it can't. Surely. Please."

Summber 2007
Written by Ciaran
The current tentative release date for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie is summer of 2007. Likewise for the release of the final Harry Potter book. So what do we do until then?

There are several things a Harry Potter fan can do remain occupied until that time. The first, and most important, would to keep visiting MuggleNet. With filming for the fifth Harry Potter movie currently taking place, we can expect lots of photos from the set, as well as – even at this late stage – more casting rumours. (Speaking of, Gary Oldman has still to be confirmed as playing Black in OOTP. There was some controversy on this topic a shorty while ago when Warner Bros. confirmed Oldman had indeed been cast as Black, causing uproar at the actor’s agency.) As regards waiting for the fifth film, I suggest you movie fans watch and re-watch the previous four Harry Potter flicks (remember the GOF DVD comes out on March 7th in the US) and then watch any other films the HP stars have appeared in. Be sure to check out my review (which turned out to be more of a synopsis) of Driving Lessons, in which Rupert plays the lead role.

Now for the book fanatics. Jo has updated her diary (most people’s favourite section) on her official site (see quote to the left). This is very exciting news. I, myself, would absolutely love Book 7 to be at least four times the size of 5 – that way I can savour for longer the best book series I have ever read. For passing the time, I suggest you keep visiting JKR.com for updates on the book, which will most likely sell more than any other previous Harry Potter tome. Also, a terrific idea would be to get interested in fan fiction, which is absolutely fantastic. There are some truly magnificent stories out there, written in a style identical to Jo’s. Additionally, keep reading our editorials. These propose some excellent, mind-wrecking ideas and hypothesise. Finally, the most obvious thing to do would be to re-read the previous books. Try to look for the small clues which could mean colossal things and possibly reveal plot details in Book 7. You’re not a true fan unless you’re read the books at least 15 times each (kidding)!

So with this in mind, can you truthfully say you’ll be bored until the release of Book 7 and Movie 5? Remember, would you prefer the last book to come quickly or slowly, with the former resulting in the rapid end of a series which, I’m sure, has changed your life? I think summer of 2007 is a perfect release; and just think what kind-of summer it’ll be with a book and and a movie coming out!
