MuggleNet and WWP Book Five Events

On Friday, June 20th, 2003, MuggleNet will be holding a Book Five event in Oak Park, Illinois. There, a group of stores including The Magic Tree, a children's bookstore, will be turned into Diagon Alley for the night! Then, on Saturday the 21st, we will be holding two separate celebrations at the Borders on Golf Road in Schaumberg, IL, and later that day at the Barnes and Noble in Naperville by the Fox Valley Mall. Both MuggleNet and Wizarding World Press will be there, and this is a page dedicated to the events, times, locations, and all your inquiries about what we'll be doing!

Events

Expert Q&A:

Still have any questions that have been left unanswered? Don't worry! Now there'll be a time to ask them to us directly!

Costume Contest:

The best-dressed witches, wizards, or magical folk will be chosen by us around 10:00. The nominees will then be displayed in front of everyone. The winner and all participants will all get prizes.

Look-Alike Contest:

Also around 10:00, we will make categories for Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, McGonagall, and Dumbledore. Also, there will be an additional miscellaneous category for the person who has the most uncanny resemblance to a character outside of those six categories. The winners will be displayed in front of everyone! Prizes and goodies for winners and participants!

Life-Size Wizard Chess:

We will have a life-size chessboard in the middle of Oak Park Avenue (the same street as Diagon Alley), where we'll hold the games! We're planning to hold two separate games. The game will be played by two opposing "Wizards Chess Councils" (who must know how to play chess), and everyone else has the opportunity to be chosen as a chess piece for either side! Each participant will recieve something cool and everyone on the winning team (players and the Council) will receive an additional prize.
