Potter Profile - Heeley

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
I picked up Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at a bookstore just to see what it was all about a month or so before the release of the fourth book. This was fifth grade. After the first couple of pages, I was hooked. I had read up to book three in about two and half days, and then I had to wait. That two month wait was only equal in agony to the wait for the other three after it. I'm proud to say I was already a super-fan by the time the first movie came out.

Which of the four Hogwarts houses do you think you would you belong to?
I like to think I'm clever, so I would be a Ravenclaw. I will admit I've got some Slytherin tendencies on my worst days, though.

What did you think of The Deathly Hallows?
I thought it was just spectacular. i picked it up at 12:42 AM Saturday morning and had it finished by Sunday. The series couldn't have ended any better. I'm not sure what I anticipated, but if I had had any expectations this book would have exceeded them. I was a little thrown off by the epilogue because I can't believe Ginny would allow Harry to give their youngest son such an awful name (Albus Severus?) and I thought there were a few loose ends, but I'm totally happy with the way everything turned out in the end (barring a few unpleasant deaths.)

What about the fifth movie?
I'm terribly fond of Gary Oldman, so any movie he's in I'll totally like, even if he dies. I thought it was a fantastic movie as far as movies go. You can't beat the cast for these films. I thought the mood was very true to the book, but I can't say I'm terribly happy with some of the things that were cut back and left out all together. More Occlumency would've been nice, but, then again, any reason to see more of Alan Rickman....

Is there any character you wish had died or any character you wish hadn't died?
If I had ever thought that Remus and Tonks were going to die, I would not have been able to read Deathly Hallows. It tore me up inside so much, and the fact that it was so undramatic just made me outraged. If someone like that is going to die, I want to see them go down kicking. Severus's death was just awful, as well. He's one of my favorite characters because I could kind of relate to him, and to know what he went through just broke my heart. As far as characters I wish had died, I'm not so sure. There was a debate on Mugglecast as to whether Molly actually killed Bellatrix and I kind of want to think that Bellatrix didn't make it out of that castle alive.

Will Harry and Draco's children ever become friends?
No, never. Even with all the stuff that Draco went through, he still holds these prejudices and he passed them on to his son. No Doubt. I imagine that Draco resents Harry incredibly and his kids are gonna feel it, too. Strangely enough, I don't think Harry's kids will be anti-Malfoy.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I see Harry Potter as something of a uniting force. I have met so many other fans who I can instantly connect with because of these books. It's like having friends all over the world, and that's a great feeling.
