Potter Profile - Ashwitha

Give us your review of Half-Blood Prince.
HBP was, in one word, unforgettable. After reading the book, I've been unable to forget about it, or the fact that Dumbledore's dead or Snape's evil…it's the kind of thing that just sticks at the back of your mind…even ages after you're read it. It just doesn't let you forget for a moment that the next book is going to the ultimate. The final one.

It's not my favourite in the series (that's either the 3 rd or the 5 th , I haven't made up my mind), but it's definitely necessary. I liked the Harry/Ginny romance (though I always thought Harry/Hermione would be the best!), but I wish Harry didn't have to act all heroic and break off their relationship in the end. It's definitely the darkest so far—but that's necessary too, because the situation is getting so much more desperate.

I think HBP is the book that makes the world of Hogwarts and magic seem more real than the others, and the one that emphasizes that the series is not typical children's fiction. That, for me, is what works, and makes HBP different.

Did you like the fourth movie or not and why?
I liked the fourth movie better than any of the previous ones because it's the least childish. Harry, Ron and Hermione have grown up, just as their audience has. I think this is the first movie in which I've been able to really think of Daniel as ‘Harry' and not just Daniel—he really becomes Harry in this one.

If you could spend the day as one EVIL character from the books, who would it be?
Draco Malfoy…to understand what exactly goes on in that brain of his!

Which GOOD character would you want to be for a day?
Hermione!!! She's so much like me…

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
The power to apparate to any place I want to…or maybe to be in two places at the same time.. hmm...

What is your favourite moment of the series so far?
The whole chapter in OOTP where Harry sees his father, Sirius, Lupin, Wormtail and his mother when they were young—I loved that.

Is Snape REALLY good or evil and is Dumbledore REALLY dead?
I re-read HBP and came to the conclusion that perhaps Snape and Dumbledore concocted a plan. A plan that Snape should show Voldemort that he really has returned to his service by killing Dumbledore…and ultimately helping Harry…who knows, it could be wrong, it could be right.

Will Harry survive the 7th book?
No idea—I'm hoping he does though, or I might just lose faith in good ultimately winning over evil…
