Potter Profile - Beth

February 27, 2005
What is your favorite Harry Potter book and why?
My favorite would have to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because how mature Harry is getting and how mature Jo Rowling's writing becomes. She wasn't afraid to do what she had to do to keep the story interesting and going.
Did you like the third movie or not and why?
I wasn't too pleased. I love the fact that it was Harry Potter. That part got me excited, in general. But, I think the movie jumped around a lot and mixed up points in the movie. (i.e. the broom arriving at the end; I would have rather seen it come at the beginning and had McGonagall take it away to be stripped)
If you could spend the day as one character from the books, who would
it be?
Hermione Granger, of course. She is intelligent and has her own beauty. Even though she isn't the most popular person, she has a sense of truth to her that I find very appealing.
What do you think of all this "relationship" arguments about who will end up with who, etc.?
I don't think it's bad. I personally would like to see Ron and Hermione together or Ron and Luna together. Firstly because Ron and Hermione already fight like a married couple. They might as well get together. Secondly because Luna is infatuated with Ron. She was always staring at him in OotP. I think it will show a sense of maturity if the characters were to have relationships especially if it gets in the way of a friendship. Then it will show how strong the trio really is.
What is your favorite moment of the series so far?
My favorite moment in the series would have to be in the fifth book when they are cleaning the doxies from the room in 12 Grimmauld Place, and Fred and George pocket some for the Skiving Snackboxes. They are so sneaky!
Who do you think the Half-Blood prince is?
I don't have a theory yet on the Half-Blood prince. I think that it is possible for him/her to be a new character and that Rowling will kill him/her. I'm not sure really. I don't want to stick my head in something like this too far or else I won't be able to turn back.
Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I would like to give a "shout-out" to Mugglenet for making me the Fan of the Week and for a wonderful website. I would also like to give a "shout-out" to Joanne Kathleen Rowling for making such a wonderful series and a wonderful world for everyone, with an imagination, to play in. I don't have any theories except that it is possible for Harry to die. It would make a lot of people upset but then with Harry dead, J.K.R. won't get asked about an 8th book or Harry's life after Hogwarts. Thank you and goodnight!
