Potter Profile - Christopher

First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
This amazing time was when I was in 4th grade. My amazing teacher decided to give us story time, I guess you can call it. The class sat on the rug and every day she would read another chapter in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. The reason that I think we started this was because HP was recently in a Times Magazine for the 3rd book release. Anyway, each day we just sat there and listened. Eventually, toward the middle of the book, I went out and bought my own copy so that I could read along (I was jealous of another kid who had her own copy). When we finished I obviously was addicted. I went out and got the 2nd book and read it in a few days then the 3rd.. and so on.

How are you feeling now that the series is over?
It’s kind of depressing, but at the same time I’m not really looking at it as over. There is still a lot to do. The one great thing about Harry Potter is that it attracts so much more than JK did herself. Recently, I just bought and read the Mugglenet book “Harry Potter should have died” (which was really cool). I also started reading the Leaky Cauldron book “Harry, A History” which is pretty cool too. Then, there’s always the movies and the Encyclopedia that is coming out. So, ill have my hands full with that. Also, as i get more money, I want to start collecting the different HP stuff, particularly the book collections and special editions. And of course i’ll be making sure that I read the entire series to each of my children(once I have some, in about 10 years) while they are young. And, don’t forget the Harry Potter theme park...gonna be amazing.

Let's talk magical objects. What would you see standing in front of The Mirror of Erised?
I’m assuming that we can have magical answers since the mirror is magic? Well, I would probably see myself standing next to the girl of my dreams with a wand in my hand. I don;t know who the girl is yet, but i know that that is one thing that is really important to me (finding the right person). also, It has always been a dream of mine (helped along by JK) to have special abilities like magic. That would be so awesome. I’d be able to enchant brooms to fly (my dream power...flying) and do basically everything. If I was a wizard I would definitely be like Hermione..or Snape. I would make sure that I knew every spell that there was, and hopefully make some of my own.

Pretend that all of the Time Turners were in fact not destroyed. What would you use one for?
I don’t think i actually would..only because they cause to many problems with changing current events (i’ve watched too many movies). But also, I’m pretty happy with how my life is right now, so i wouldn’t want to change anything.

Congratulations! You just inherited a pair of Vanishing Cabinets! Where would you place them?
This is really hard. ummm, probably in a secret area in San Diego somewhere. It would be kool to be able to just go to the other side of the country to a beautiful city whenever I wanted to think or something. Plus. I’m currently in San Diego on the Navy Base and it is amazing.

If there was a way to make a Horcrux without committing murder, would you do it?
Of course I would. Why wouldn’t you? The one bad thing about being a ghost is that you live for all of eternity. Once you make the decision, you can’t take it back. A horcrux is similar to a sorcerers stone in a way. You can choose how long you will live. If you die, you can come back. If you ever really want to die, you can just destroy your horcrux.

Finally, which Hallow are you most drawn to and why?
I know that the books make this one look evil but I would definitely want the elder wand. it just seems very practical. And if you think about it it can probably replace the cloak anyway. The books say that most cloaks wear off because the spells weaken. However, the elder wand makes unusually powerful spells. We saw this when it fixed Harry's Phoenix wand when no other wand would fix it. This means that its effects would probably last longer on a cloak anyway (maybe even permanent). Also, I’m still young yet, so gratefully I don’t know many people who have died. A wand is a wizard’s most important tool. Why not have the best one?

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just saw the Harry Potter 6 movie.. It was awesome!!!
