Potter Profile - Divya

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
The way I became a fan of Harry Potter is actually quite embarrassing. It is not something I would advertise, and that is saying something since once I start talking I won't stop easily. I had a close friend in my old school who had given me the first Harry Potter book as a birthday gift when I was 10 years old. I had taken a look at it and put it among the pile of presents I had got. Mesmerized by the other flashy and 'cool' presents, I had completely forgotten about the book until my friend asked me how it was. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, I said that it was amazing. She asked me whether I liked it quite a lot and I told her yes. Then came the bombshell, she invited me to a party hosted by her based on the theme Harry Potter. I freaked out!!! The worst part was it was being held the next week. I resolved to read the book completely that night. I began reading it by 7 in the night. By 8:30 I wouldn't have kept the book down even if I was paid a million dollars!!! I guess that's how I became a big time freak!!!!!!! The next day I went to the party and we sat there the whole day munching on pizzas 'n' talking about Harry Potter. That was the best I had felt in 10 whole years!

Which of the four Hogwarts houses would you like to belong to?
Gryffindor, definitely. I hadn't even considered being in any other house. My friends and I have already pretend enrolled into Hogwarts and I got sorted into Gryffindor (of course) and I am currently in my first year. Besides the fact that Harry Potter is in Gryffindor the house totally rocks. I mean from the head of the house to the ghost everything is so cool!!

If you had the chance to act as one of the characters in the movie version of the books, who would you pick?
Hermione Granger would be my first pick. I already know all her dialogues by heart. And somehow I can picture myself saying "It's Levi-o-sa, not Leviosa". There is also this fact that I admire Hermione and envy her. I especially like her in the fourth book where she helps Harry out in the Triwizard Tournament. My second pick is really unexpected: Moaning Myrtle. I don't know why but I have always been attracted to her character. I guess it is because she is an important source of information in COS. I also can imitate her voice almost to perfection.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming fifth movie?
I can't wait to see it!!! I heard there are no Quidditch scenes in it!! I seriously hope it is only a rumor. I like the way they have designed Bellatrix's clothes and her make up and jewelry. It somehow has a very Death Eaterish effect. My only problem was Daniel Radcliffe's haircut. I like the style he had in the POA the best. But now after seeing it so often I got quite used to it. I love the scene where he says "I'm not weak" and Snape goes "Then prove it."

When do you think Book 7 should be released?
I think the 7th Book should be released on 7-7-07. I know it is too far away but if it is released on that date people will remember it forever. There is also the fact that 7 is the most magical number and the 7th book will release on 7-7-07. Not only that, if it does release on the date all the Harry Potter books will be released on a Saturday and it will be magical.

Do you like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the title for Book 7? What do you think it means?
Frankly speaking I don't think I like it very much since I am mortified by its seriousness. I think it might be possible that Hallow refers to Halloween (which is also known as Hallow's Eve). Lily and James Potter died on that day and JKR might want history to repeat itself (God forbid) and kill Harry on the 31st October or it can also be possible that there is a place (a house maybe?) called something hallow.

Who is one character you think will die in Book 7?
I think Voldemort will definitely die in the sixth book, since the prophecy states "Neither shall live while the other survives". Either Harry or Voldemort have to die in this book as it is the last installment. Personally I don't think JK will have the heart to finish off Harry after creating him and his adventures and living with it for all these years. So it is highly likely that she would kill Voldemort off.

If you had the opportunity to meet JK Rowling, what is one question you would ask her?
If I meet her before the 7th book releases I would ask her whether Harry is going to die. Though I know it is pointless, she is obviously not going to tell. If I meet her after the 7th book releases I will ask her to narrate the dream she had recently in detail (the one in which she dreamed that she was Harry and the narrator).

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Firstly, I would like to think the whole staff of MuggleNet for making this website such a wonderful one. I have learned a lot of things in this site. For example: Ron's full name is Ronald Billius Weasley. Secondly, I would like to tell you how glad I am for getting picked for the Potter Profile. Thanks Mandie!!!!!!

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.
