Potter Profile - Elladora

August 7, 2005
Give us your review of Half-Blood Prince.
Oh, wow.
No that's not it. I was completely surprised, but in a good way! The
opening
few chapters were fantastic, with 'The Other Minister' and 'Spinners'
End',
My views on Snape were thrown into turmoil! *laughs* I didn't know what
side
he was on anymore! But my favourite chapter would have to be 'Will's
and
Wont's. I fell in love with Dumbledore all over again! I got a bit
annoyed
with him at the end of the Order of the Phoenix, though I understand
the
reason's why he kept everything from Harry, etc. And I loved learning
about
Voldemort's past. It was incredibly liberating to finally know how he
got to
be the was he is! Oh, I was so happy when Harry and Ginny kissed! Hehe,
I
punched the air yelling "HELL YEAH!, finally!" Though I knew it was too
good
to be true. But Hermione! I had no idea that she cared for Ron
to
such an extent. And RON! Oh deary me, Won won? Haha, I loved that.
Don't
like Slughorn, though...
Did you like the third movie or not and why?
If I don't compare it to the book, I loved it! I thought it was a
really
fantastic adaptation, and that Alfonso did a great job following on
from
Chris. I loved the Time-turner scene, it's also my favourite part in
the
book, I thought it was done really well, and Harry's like "wtf?" haha.
I
didn't mind the new Dumbledore either. I was worried, and I think it
may
take me a bit to get used to him, as I loved Richard Harris in the
first two
movies. And Hermione! Kicked Ass! Sirius is awesome. Love Gary Oldman,
such
a diverse actor!
... But don't ask me about comparing it to the book. I'll be writing
for
hours! Hehe
If you could spend the day as one character from the books, who would
it be?
Oh, tough question... It would have to be either Voldemort or
Dumbledore.
The fact that they're both amazing wizards and the depth of their
knowledge
and power would be so incredible. But if I must pick one, I'd probably
choose Voldemort. He'd be so twisted inside, from his childhood and
after
the curse from Harry's mother, it'd be so fascinating.
What is your favorite moment of the series so far?
Definetely from the Goblet of Fire, 3rd Task, in the maze and
afterwards in
the Gravesite with Voldemort and the Death Eaters. The whole time I was
reading that part was so intense I thought I would burst. I didn't want
to
read too fast in case I missed anything, but I wanted to hurry up and
see
what would happen! So many emotions were running through me after
Cedric was
killed and Peter went through the ritual to bring Voldemort back. Cried
a
lot! And Priori Incantatem! *jaw drops* Oh man, such a powerful moment!
Is Snape REALLY good or evil and is Dumbledore REALLY dead?
Snape has to be good still! Too many factors rise up in his defense. He
was
hesitating when Narcissa asked him to make the Unbreakable Vow with
her, And
Dumbledore begged Snape! Begged him to go through with it? Cause
Dumbledore
already knew what was going on, perhaps? And why didn't Snape just
throw a
curse at Harry? Rather than just blocking them. Sure, Snape wasn't to
kill
Harry, leave him to Voldemort as requested, but... It doesn't make
sense.
And the fact that Snape was so... Angry! When Harry called him a
coward. I
was surprised with that. I wouldn't think that something like that
would
bother a servant of the Dark Lord.
And yes, I believe Dumbledore is dead. We all saw it happen. It would
be
terribly improper for JK to bring him back, especially after Sirius.
And
didn't she say at one point, "Once you're dead, that's it?"
Will Harry survive the 7th book?
Well, I'm not sure, but I have to believe that he will. After all that
he's
been through, it may seem right for him to die for a just cause, or he
must
die so Voldemort will etc. But I'd rather him survive after the war and
see
all the good he's actually done. Plus I don't think (and I don't think
I'm
alone in this) I could handle Harry dying. After everything that's
happened
and will happen in the last chapter!
Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I don't like to theorise much as I like to just let the story flow as
it
happens, rather than try to analyse what everything could mean, etc.
Also I've just had a bunch of friends I have to say hi to *rolls eyes*
so,
Hi Asher! Hi Pam! Hi Sarah! Hi at everyone at Angus and Robertson!
Emerson, you're a dude! Loved the Wall of Shame Special Ed. Fantastic!
Was
in stitches :D Love MuggleNet, you all do such a great job, wish I
could
work with you all! Goblet of Fire layouts, Hell yeah!
Editors note: I'm still not sure what was meant by "Emerson, you're a dude!"
