Potter Profile - Elri

Give us your review of Half-Blood Prince.
Well what can I say? Best Harry Potter book ever written in my opinion! J.K Rowling is an absolute superb writer! Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is, in my opinion, a book for more the teenagers. Basically because the style that J. K Rowling has written it in, is more understandable for teenagers. Yes, younger children might understand some of the phrases and stuff, and of course their parents might be able to explain it, but it's more of reading between the lines I think. J.K Rowling gives us more explanations of certain subjects or characters in this book.

I loved the humor in this book too; it lightens up the darkness that fills most of the story line. As for Ginny and Harry, I always saw that one coming. I must say I love their relationship, even though they can't be together at the moment.

The new characters that are introduced in HBP are quite fascinating, although I must say that I don't like Rufus Scrimgeour very much. As for the… dare I say it?...Horcruxes, I think Harry is going to have a tough job finding the rest of them. I also think that J.K Rowling has written this book in a very smart way. She's a very smart woman! Half –Blood Prince was brilliant, for the third time, yes I have read it three times already.

Did you like the fourth movie or not and why?
Well, actually I haven't seen Goblet of Fire yet, as it doesn't show in our cinemas until the 2nd of December 2005. And let me tell you, that really bites! But as I've seen most of the spoilers ( Didn't have the self-control to stop myself from seeing them), I think it's going to be a brilliant movie! Except, for the little funny parts that they left out. Would've loved to see Winky the house elf, and Dudley 's giant tongue. But I think it's going to be great! Can't wait to see it!

Which EVIL character would you like to be for a day?
Ah well, I suppose it's gotta be Draco Malfoy. He's at least nicer than Snape, whom I despise at the moment, the greasy slimeball! Sorry. Yeah Malfoy would be ok, I mean he's rich, powerful, but I don't like the Death-Eater part of him though.

Which GOOD character would you want to be for a day?
Definitely the great…the awesome, Harry Potter! Harry has a lot to deal with, but I think he'll come through in the end. He's a very nice guy really. I think it would be quite nice to be Harry Potter, because I'll give the Dursley's hell, and it would be nice to stay at the Burrow, and even sample Mrs. Weasley's cooking. Mmmm. And being at Hogwarts will obviously be a dream come true. All the spells, and magic! Yeah, Harry's great!

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
To be able to understand how the male mind works, and a second one, I suppose I would like to have the ability to change my appearance, like Tonks.

What is your favourite moment of the series so far?
Well, in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, there's one really funny part, where Ron gets his prefect letter, and Mrs. Weasley is ecstatic, and she drops the line: “ Oh that's everyone in the family (Prefects)” , and Fred and George are like: “ What are Fred and I, next-door neighbors? “ That was really very funny.

Is Snape REALLY good or evil and is Dumbledore REALLY dead?
He's an evil, greasy haired slimeball! Yes, Snape is evil, because he obviously works for another freak called Voldemort, which I personally think needs to see a shrink. And yes, I think Dumbledore is dead, even though it's hard to imagine, and easy to deny. It's sad, really.

Will Harry survive the 7th book?
I think so. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'll stay positive, and I think he'll kill Voldemort in the end, or if not, he'll kill Voldemort, but then die himself. But I think he's going to live happily ever after, because I don't think Jo would like a stampede of angry Harry Potter fans, standing outside her house, with like torches in their hands.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
Yes. I drive me mum and dad, absolutely crazy with my Potter obsession. But I must admit I'm a Harry Potter freak anyway. A theory…hmm, let me think…Well it's gonna sound stupid, but here itgoes. I think that the Horcrux of Rowena Ravenclaw might be a book, obviously because she only took smart people into her house. But then again it could also be the Sorting Hat, which has a mind of it's own. Yeah, I don't know.

I'd like to send a shout-out to my best friend Suzaan Lourens, which lives with me here in South-Africa, and who introduced me to the magical world. Then a special someone, that's all I'm going to say. ;), also Amber from Warner Bros.
