Fan of the Year - Elizabeth

2009
First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
Truthfully, it was all because of my mom. When the first movie came out, I had
never read the books or anything so I didnt know much about it. She wanted to see
the movie and made me go with her. Of course, I ended up loving it. I fell in love
with the characters and I HAD to know more. I bought the books and had the first
three done in a week.
Which Potter character do you relate to most?
Im a lot like Ron. I am silly and funny and I keep things light. Also, I am a
good friend. I, like Ron, get jealous very easily and lose my temper often.
Imagine you are sitting in the Great Hall with the Sorting Hat on your head. What
would it be saying?
It would be deciding between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. I am very loyal, honest
and hardworking, but I am also brave and chivalrous. I may be more of a Hufflepuff,
but I would like to think of myself as a Gryffindor.
If you were a wizard in your 5th year trying to decide what career you might be
interested in, what would your options be?
While working at St. Mungos could be SO cool because you would see the most
interesting stuff, I would rather run a Radio/Talk show on the Wizarding Wireless
Network. I would play good music and invite guests and influential wizards and
witches on the show. I would also give political commentary.
Which Hogwarts professor do you believe you would get along with best?
I think I would get along best with Professor Sprout. I am very ADD and talkative
so I think I might drive the other teachers crazy. Professor Sprout always seems
really nice and friendly, but is always willing to help other students out. She is
the perfect combination between nice and strict, but is not a push over.
If you were at Hogwarts at the same time as Professor Umbridge, would you have
joined Dumbledore's Army?
Oh yeah! For sure. Fight the man! But really, any measure I could take to learn to
protect my family and friends would be worth any risk. Plus it is ridiculous that
Umbridge expected students to learn on THEORY. You cant show someone the steering
wheel, pedal and speed limit and expect them to be a perfect driver right away.
Which "Weasley Wizarding Wheezes" would you use to get out of class?
If I was really feeling it, I would go for Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder. I like
to go out with a bang. Either that or Fainting Fancies.
In Chapter 1 of HBP, the Muggle Prime Minister is told about the existence of the
Wizarding World. How do you think you would react to news of a magic world?
At first I would be like, I KNEW IT. Then I would immediately try to get involved
somehow. Magic-Muggle relations?
If you could spend the day as one GOOD character from the books, who would it be?
One of the Weasley twins! No competition. They would be the most fun to be. I
would probably pick Fred, because he is usually the funnier one. Also, I want to
know what its like to be a twin. That would be such a boss day.
Let's talk magical objects. What would you see standing in front of The Mirror of
Erised?
I would see me at the age of 50. I would be standing next to my husband, Daniel
Radcliffe and my kids. They would all be grown up and healthy. Most importantly,
we would all be happy.
Pretend that all of the Time Turners were in fact not destroyed. What would you use
one for?
Taking tests. I would take a test, then go back a few hours and know what to
study!
Which Hallow are you most drawn to and why?
I am most drawn to the cloak. I dont like fighting so I wouldnt care about the
wand and there is no one who has died that I really want to bring back. I think it
would be fun to sneak around while invisible.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I cannot say it enough. Thank you to everyone who voted and
supported me! Thank you MuggleNet! Emily, Sarah and Natalie it was such an honor to
have been a part of this with you. You are all clearly huge fans and I was
seriously intimidated by your profiles. Thanks to Mom, Terry and Karen who made my
senior pictures possible! Thanks to Leah, Grace, Sara and of course, my amazing
sister Emily for always being there to talk Harry Potter with me. To my classmates
for not getting frustrated when I related EVERYTHING to Harry Potter and OBVIOUSLY
J.K. Rowling who brought meaning into my life. Next on my agenda, see A Very
Potter Sequel live!
