Potter Profile - Anisha

May 9, 2004

Ok, why do I love Harry such much. This is a really hard thing for me to explain, always when people ask me that, I am like: "How can anyone be not loving Harry!" The Harry books have this deep wisdom and kindness, which simply make me love them. Harry himself is so loyal and kind, good headed all the way through, that I simply have to love him. He is a real superhero, but on the same time a normal boy. He needs friends and has the same fears and feelings a normal boy has. (Or should I say kid, to not exclude the girls?) So its hard for me to say, to describe my love for Harry. I simply love him for the way he is, just for being Harry. No literary figure before him touched me the was he did, and hey *lol* I write myself and read like alot, so saying that means a lot. I simply love Harry.

How and when did you get into Harry Potter?
I was doing a work experience in a hospital in Bury St Edmunds, England in 1997. And as I didn't really know anyone to do stuff with after work (I live in Germany normally) I checked out the bookstore to have some stuff to read. Then there was this book and this boy was on the cover, who looked exactly the way I did when I was around ten, and I was: "Hey, lets see what that book is about!" There I fell in love with Harry. It simply got me. I started to tell anyone: "Hey, you really have to get that potter books!" I was one of the very first Harry fans. He wasn't even out in Germany by then.

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?
It's Harry Potter and the PoA. This book is so awesome. I love it. Ok, all books are, but if I had to choose, it would be that one.

What character can you relate to most?
That's 100% Harry. I even have his glasses and use lots of expression he does. Reading about Harry, I sometimes think: "How does Jo Rowling know me that well?"

Are you satisfied with the handling of the "boy/girl stuff" in book 5?
Yes. Especially the Harry/Cho story. It was extremely good. I loved it. How does Jo know boys minds that well?? Actually I was surprised that Ginny also was into dating. I pictured her so young and then she was a big girl and dating and all, maybe I was as surprised as overprotecting big brother Ron was. But that was also ok. I was just surprised. And I hope she will end up with Harry.

What did you think was the most exciting thing that happened in book 5? What was the most disturbing? What left the biggest impression on you?
Most exciting was Harry "dating" Cho. I felt so happy for Harry. I would say the most disturbing story was the long live Quidditch ban. I was shocked. Really. How could that ever happen to Harry? I felt so sorry for him, this was such a mean thing. The biggest impression left was the the final talk with Dumbledore on me. When Harry was all mad and angry, showed his whole troubled young mind and Dumbledore accepted it and on the same time tried to calm him down and explain, I really thought, that this scene should be put into books for future teachers.

Was the character that died the one you thought it would be? (Be honest now!)
I feared it would be Hagrid. I was almost sure it would be him.

Which house would you like to be in and why? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?
I would love to be in Gryffindor. And that's not just because Harry is in Gryffindor. The Gryffindors have this deep loyalty and kindness for each other. They have a strong believe in friendship and put this friendship above everything. They stay to rules and regulations, because the don't feel special or above any rule, but they don't fear to break them when it is necessary. They work hard but fair. Even McGonnagal doesn't hesitate to punish her own house, cause she believes in fairness and equality, but also would stick up for them when needed. All these are values I can relate to and agree with. I strongly believe that I would be put into Gryffindor, because simply for the reason, that I wanted to. Dumbledore explained it to Harry. The hat puts you in that house, where you really desire to be in.

Do you have any interesting HP stories to share?
Oh, well there would be so many. I wouldn't really know where to start. Maybe a funny one, concerning the movie. When Harry was in his pajamas, sitting at the window, petting Hedwig, I actually was almost shocked. I didn't really believe what I saw. The simple reason for that was, that I own exactly the same pajama. It's like 100% the same. That simply couldn't be, how could I have Harry's pajama, I mean I didn't buy it after seeing the movie, I already had that one like ages before the books even came out. It was confusing, but also made me happy. When I found out later on, that he also owns "my green pullover" I wasn't surprised anymore. After that pajama thing anything was possible.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
Hmmm, something interesting to say finally? Well I really don't know. I don't really want to make up theories, but I sort of have the certain feeling that Colin Creevy will play a special role in the future. And I would like to end this with the words: "Harry rules!"
