Potter Profile - Jamie

What is your favorite Harry Potter book and why?
My favorite Harry Potter book would have to be Order of the Phoenix. I really enjoyed it because it was so much darker than the others, and Harry's dreams and theories about Voldemort really made it more intriguing. Harry thought he was the snake, so he had to learn Occlumency. Because he didn't try, Sirius died, and now he's sad and confused. Harry dated Cho, then he didn't. They kissed, and now he doesn't like her... In OOTP Harry had so many different emotions, that it really lets the readers know what goes through a 15 year old wizard's head, because no one else knows! Also, the parts about Harry and the DA were wonderful! I loved that idea, and I think it brought alot to the story.

Did you like the third movie or not and why?
I did enjoy it, but there were a few parts that I didn't like. I loved the Shrieking Shack visit, the Hogsmeade trip, and the time travel was the best! Then again, I hated the abrupt ending with Harry flying into the screen, the Marauders Map history being gone, and the major lack of Quidditch. There was only one scene with Quidditch, and it wasn't even a whole match! Still, I have to give Alfonso credit, he did do a pretty good job! I thought the dementors looked great. They really frightened me when I saw them. It gave me cold chills-just like how they're supposed to!

If you could spend the day as one character from the books, who would it be?
I would spend the day as Luna Lovegood. She is one of my favorite characters, and I would love to know what goes through her mind sometimes! She's a Ravenclaw, so she must be smart, even though she tends not to show it. She's obviously going to play a bigger role in future books, because J.K. Rowling wouldn't put her in the Department of Mysteries trip if she wasn't. Therefore, I'd pick Luna because she's smart, kind of crazy, but obviously has a bit of bravery in her too; just like me!

What do you think of all this "relationship" arguments about who will end up with who, etc.?
*laughs* I'm a big 'shipper', but I'm pretty picky. I think it's good to support the relationships you think could happen. Arguments, or rather debates, about them are okay too. I personally am a fan of the Ron/Hermione ship and the Harry/Ginny ship. I think arguments about ships are a good way to pass the time until the next book comes out, but there ARE a few ships that are just insane. Have you ever heard of Dobby/Grawp? You don't want to. What about Voldemort/Hermione? Those and slash ships are what I really dislike, but regular arguments about regular ships are fine with me!

What is your favorite moment of the series so far?
My favorite moment in the series is basically the whole chapter in OOTP where all the characters are home for Christmas. I love that part, because everyone is together and happy. Sirius is alive, everyone is like a family (for the most part), and although Mr. Weasley is currently at St. Mungo's, it still seems to be an all-around good time at Grimmauld place.

Who do you think the Half-Blood prince is?
I think the Half-Blood prince is someone we've never met. Could it be the next DADA teacher? I don't know, but I think that's a good theory. I've heard several different stories about it, but it just makes sense that it would be someone we haven't seen. If you think about it, all the books revolve around something not known. In PS/SS, we didn't know what was hidden at Hogwarts, and who was trying to take it. In COS, we didn't know about Tom Riddle, or who was doing all the awful things at Hogwarts. In POA, we didn't know that Sirius was innocent and Peter wasn't. In GOF, we had no clue that Mad-Eye Moody wasn't the real Moody. In OOTP we didn't know anything about the prophecy until the end of the book. It fits that we "don't know" about the Half-Blood prince either. Either that, or we've briefly met him, but nothing has been explained about him yet.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
First I'd like to thank MuggleNet for letting me be the Fan of the Week! I'm thrilled you allowed me to do this, and I thank you all very much!
