Potter Profile - Jenna

December 27, 2009
First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
Well, my older sister originally got into the series when Sorcerer's Stone came out
when i was in kindergarden and so i begged my dad to read it to me. We ended up
reading the first 3 books together before I started reading them on my own and loved
them all. I got really hooked on the movies when in 2nd grade my teacher took the
whole class to go see Chamber of Secrets and I was one of the few who absolutly
loved it and didnt turn away in fear at the baskilisk scene in the end. From there,
i was reading the series on my own and couldnt get enough of it.
How are you feeling now that the series is over?
I am truly devestated now that the books are done and the movies are coming to a
close end. I enjoyed the arrival of a new book and movie so much that it just cant
end now! I am glad that Deathly Hallows will be made into 2 movies though so that we
can look foward to 2 dates before finally saying goodbye to the series. Of course I
will always re-read the series from the beginning as if it was happening all over
again.
We got our very first glimpse of Deathly Hallows this month!
Thoughts?
Yes!!!! i was soooo excited for it! I saw it on youtube when it first came out and
my friend and i kept going back to stop it play-by-play to be sure we caught all of
the details. It was epic and it got me really pumped for DH! I loved how we got a
glimpse of the wedding scene which i am very excited for! Ioved how you could see
Mrs. Weasley bobbing up and down!
All seven books are out, there are two movies to go, and the theme
park> opens (hopefully) this spring. With so much to still look forward to, how> do
you think the fandom, and you, will change once the wait is over?
Even though it is coming to end, the excitment will never stop for me. Of course
I'll read all the books over and over again and watch the movies non-stop. I am
really looking foward to the opening of the theme park! Im hoping to take all my
freinds and we can visit Honeydukes sweetshop and zonkos and stop for butterbeer in
the three broomsticks!
If you
could pitch an idea to The WB for keeping Harry Potter & The Wizarding World alive
for many more years to come, what would it be?
I'd say that they can definetly make a whole new generation with all the kids in HP.
With Lily, James, Albus Severus, Rose, Hugo, Teddy, and Scorpius....there can be a
whole new clan of little HP allies and enimies! I think if WB were to continue,
Teddy Lupin should have a big role for he is going to be just like Harry; growing up
with relatives due to both his parents death. I'd love to see the next generation go
through the lives that their parents have lived.
Are there events in your fandom past that you would change or that you>
wish you hadn't missed out on?
I wish i couldve gone to more midnight movie premieres for the HP movies! Ive only
gone to see Half-blood Prince at midnight which was a lot of fun! I will be sure to
do that again with Deathly Hallows part 1 and 2!
If you
could change who died in the series, which character would you keep alive and why?
(Submitted by Cassy S.)
TONKS AND LUPIN!!! *sob* oh they were my complete favorite characters! Why'd they
have to die? I know they didn't have the biggest role but I thought they had the
coolest HP relationship and they were the characters that stood out the most to me.
What's better than a pink-haired animorphagus marrying a werewolf ex-teacher? I cried
hysterically when I read they died and still can't get over it. I was extremely
disapointed with the lack of screen time they each had in HBP. They also skipped my
favorite scene where tonks told remus she loved him in the hospital scene at the end
of HBP. I do hope to see more of them in DH!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I got my copy of Half-Blood Prince today!!! (Dec.8th) of course i had to get it the
first day. no way could i have waited. It was just as amazing as it was in theaters
and i cried once again at dumbledore's death even if this is the 4th time ive seen
it happen....
