Potter Profile - Justin

March 25, 2007

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
I became a fan when I heard about the first movie coming out. How I hadn't heard about it, working in a library, I don't know. Since then, however, I've been an avid fan of the series. It's great to see people of all ages reading these huge books... and even re-reading them, too. It's taken the literary world by storm and I'm proud to be a card-carrying Rowling reader!

Which of the four Hogwarts houses would you like to belong to?
I can narrow the field down to two: Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. I'm sure the Sorting Hat would have a bit of trouble trying to figure out where I belong the best. I'm a hard-working bookworm. In the end, I think I'd be sorted into Hufflepuff, as it matches my personality more than Ravenclaw. But I'd love to be a Ravenpuff. ;)

If you had the chance to act as one of the characters in the movie version of the books, who would you pick?
If I could act at all, which I can't, I'd love to play the role of Professor Filius Flitwick. I just think he's such a fun character and there's a lot of history about him that we haven't discovered yet. Charms would also be an interesting class to teach, as it seems to be one of the toughest to master, but enjoyable as well. Again, if I could act, though.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming fifth movie?
I'm actually really excited about it. I'm not like others, who look down on the movies because they don't include everything in the book. They're two totally separate entities. I feel you should enjoy the movies for what they are: movies! Anywho, I think Order of the Phoenix will be the best one so far, even if it was one of my least favorite books. With such great actors, how can the movie go wrong? I hope Potter fans everywhere go out and see it in the movies... we've got to bring a Harry Potter movie to the top of the worldwide gross list. Vote, er, watch often and watch early.

What do you think of the release date of Book 7? (July 21, 2007)
July 21st is the perfect time of the year for the book. It's going to be an amazing summer, with the movie coming out a week before, and I can't wait. This'll also give the chance for those still in school to spend the night with a flashlight and reading Deathly Hallows. There's nothing I'd rather do on a Friday night than wait in line for the last of the series. ;)

Do you like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the title for Book 7? What do you think it means?
It's not too bad of a title, but I did prefer some of the other ones in the series. I know it's coming, but this title prophesizes doom and destruction in the future for the gang we've known and loved the past years. I also think people have been confusing Deathly HALLOWS with Godric HOLLOW. I feel that whatever's going to be happening will be near Halloween, which is basically "Hallow's Eve".

Who is one character you think will die in Book 7?
Something tells me that it will be Hagrid that will be one of the deaths in Deathly Hallows. It feels like he's been distancing himself slowly and slowly from the Trio ever since Sorcerer's Stone. Yeah, I know when they were ickle firsties, they all bonded together, but it's just a gut feeling that I have that Hagrid will die. :/

If you had the opportunity to meet JK Rowling, what is one question you would ask her?
"Will you PLEASE write more books in the wizarding world of Harry Potter?" A prequel about the Founding of Hogwarts would be great, as would any number of other stories that have been mentioned briefly in the series, such as the battle between Dumbledore and Grindewald. Perhaps even a biography of Dumbeldore himself, as that would be fascinating. The idea of the end of the series coming so soon makes me sad, as there really isn't another series to take the place for kids and adults everywhere.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to Mugglenet staff for letting me be Fan of the Week and also providing information for these past years. Mugglenet is one of my most visited sites and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Another thing: Go Fightin' Irish!! and remember to support your local public libraries!
