Fan Question of the Week: If you could date any character on HP, who would it be and why? (Submitted by Micki, 23, from the United States)
Bill Weasley. First, he is older, so I instantly had a crush on him. All Weasleys are crush-worthy, BUT too young for me. Second, he's mysterious and free-spirited, or at least the earring and long hair make me think so. I am also a fan of the red hair because red hair comes with freckles usually, so I assume he'd have freckles. AND Molly Weasley would be the best mother-in-law any girl could ever wish for.

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
My best friend (who helped me submit myself for Fan of the Week) went to the library our junior year in college, with the intention of checking out The Lord of the Rings books for some leisure reading. It was obviously meant to be that they were not in. Harry Potter caught her eye so she decided to give it a try. She fell in love. She made me watch the first three movies. I absolutely LOVED them. (This also started our obsession with owls.) She talked me into reading the first book. I HATED reading and was certain I wouldn't like it, even though I loved the movies. I had never completed a whole book in all of my schooling, high school and college included. I decided I'd give it a try. I couldn't put them down. I read the first book faster than I had ever read anything. Then came the second and third. I read Book 4 and 5 together in less than two weeks just in time to attend my first book release. Then came my first movie release, and I of course dressed up. Somewhere along I happened upon MuggleNet, which slowly fed my love. Some time after, that the love turned into obsession and not a day goes by that I don't think or talk or reference Harry Potter. And I have grasped and embraced my obsession.

What is your favorite Harry Potter book and movie?
I guess I would have to say Goblet of Fire is my favorite book and movie. It was my first favorite book, because it was the first one I read and had not seen the movie before. So it was so much more intense and real for my imagination and for me. It confirmed for me that I was a Harry Potter fan and loved these books more than I was ever going to love any others. But I love all of the books, especially GoF and up. And GoF was my favorite movie simply for the intense emotion in the scene where Harry cries after Cedric dies. I can't watch it without feeling the emotion and crying a lot.

If you could be any character in the series, who would you be?
Mrs. Weasley. She is my hero. What I want most in the world is to be a mom (and a wife). And she is such a wonderful mother. If financially able, I have always wanted to have seven kids. She has seven kids. She is also very emotional and so am I. I relate to her the most. She's quirky and loving and gentle and everyone loves her.

What is one thing you would like to see happen in Book 7?
Well what I DON'T want to happen is for Harry to die. I would cry for days. I would for sure like to see Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione together and with hopes of a "happily ever after" future. My friends and I would like to see Ron as Head Boy. I would like to see Hagrid as Head of Gryffindor House. And other than that I try not to wish many other things because I don't want to be disappointed, as if I ever could be.

If you could change anything about the series, what would it be?
More books. More pages. And I wouldn't want Sirius to die. I wouldn't have done it differently, and I know people have to die, but I wanted to see more of him. But really, I would change absolutely nothing. Now the movies are another story.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I love MuggleNet!! I am really obsessed with it (a healthy obsession of course). Winning Fan of the Week will be my claim to fame for the rest of my life. I screamed and squealed and jumped up and down and couldn't talk clearly or breathe normally or tell anyone why I was acting like a crazy person for the first few minutes. I called everyone I knew, even people that didn't care at all. MuggleCast is the best podcast ever. I listen to it all the time, literally. And Micah is my favorite just because he is closest to my age, but I really don't have a favorite. I love everyone that has anything to do with MuggleNet and am so jealous that you have jobs that require you to think about Harry Potter. What a life?! (And I do have a life outside of my obsession for Harry Potter and MuggleNet and MuggleCast. I successfully graduated college despite being distracted by Harry and my favorite website. And I do have a job now, although not as cool as working at MuggleNet. Just in case anyone was concerned for my well-being.)
