Potter Profile - Kelly

March 22, 2009
First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
It's what I grew up with. My sister loved it, so she read it aloud to me before i
could read. I listened to the tapes, too (naturally). The first book of the series I
read was Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (my sister debated on letting me
read the part about the veil, but i made her). I went to see all the movies, and i
got to hang out with her friends (highschoolers), so there was another plus. I
really didn't have a choice, I was addicted. Also, I was wretchedly in love with
Fred Weasly (sob sob...see how well that turned out?)
How are you feeling now that the series is over?
I don't feel this way with a lot of books, in fact Twilight is the only other
series that left me this way. I think I described it to one of my friends like this:
"Reading it opened me up to a whole new part of me I didn't know existed. Finishing
left me with a gaping hole where that part was." But I suppose that it wasn't that
bad. Those books are one of my best friends, and I can go back to them anytime.
Allthough, I did have to read the last book three times for it to sink in.
If you could rewrite any part of the series, what would you change?
Hmm. This is a hard question. I MIGHT change the part where Dumbledore is drinking
the potion in the Half Blood Prince. But that's just because it was sad. I actually
ran from the room, crying because Dumbledore was always so brave, so confident.
Sigh. Oh, and I don't think that I would've killed off Lupin and Tonks. Just 'cuz.
In your opinion, who is the most over-rated character?
The most over-rated character... I think that was... NO ONE! All the characters
are great, I can't find a flaw (except for the intentional ones, of course) in them.
So that answers your next two questions.
Who is the most under-rated?

Keeping in mind the encyclopedia that Jo plans to write, besides a
main character, whose back story are you most interested in reading about and
why?
I'm kind of wondering about two people. What was Peter Pettigrew's past like?
Professer Quirrel? I know that they were not very... significant (after all, she was
able to kill off both characters without regret on my part), but that would be
interesting. I think that someone mentioned Peter's mother (in passing), but thats
it, and we know nothing about Quirrel.
Please describe something in your life (besides your life as a
whole) that has been directly affected by Harry Potter, Jo, or both.
Probably the most affected part of my life was my relationship with my sister (but
i bet you guessed that). I'm sure we would've found something that would bond us,
but nothing would ever be as strong as HP. She's my best friend, even though she's
just under a decade older. we have so many on-going jokes about these books and
movies, that i doubt i can list them without boring you to death. I know you said to
list one, but the second-most-affected thing was my brain. I cannot listen to a
conversation, even one totally unrelated, without comparing it to something HP has
presented. My condition is sadly uncurable, but even if it wasn't i doubt i would
want to cure it. HP IS MY LIFE!
