Potter Profile - Kendra

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
I have been a fan ever since the first movie came out. I wish I had started reading the books sooner. I went to go see another movie in the theatre one day, but it was sold out. My friends and I decided Harry Potter was the next best thing to spend our money on, but I went reluctantly. I am so glad the other movie was sold out. If it wasn't for that, I would not be a Harry Potter fan today. The minute I got out of the theatre I ran to a bookstore and picked up the Harry Potter series to read. The rest is history.

Which of the four Hogwarts houses would you like to belong to?
I know not a lot of people say this, but I would be a proud Hufflepuff. I am a loyal and caring person. Hufflepuff seems like it would be the right fit for me. I don't know how to exactly explain why. It's just one of those things you know you would be right for.

If you had the chance to act as one of the characters in the movie version of the books, who would you pick?
I think I would want to play Professor Trelawney. I think acting out her part would be a real trip, especially in the movie version of Half Blood Prince. It would definitely be fun trying to capture her character, and just try to act as crazy as she does in the books.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming fifth movie?
From everything I have seen and heard, I think it is shaping up to be the best movie so far. I cannot wait until I see Dumbledore and Voldemort duel in the Ministry. However, I am really hoping Gambon can pull this off. I am a little wary about him playing Dumbledore still. One of my favorite quotes about him is, "Snape didn't kill Dumbledore, Michael Gambon did." I still hold out the hope that he can redeem himself as an actor in my eyes by doing the role of Dumbledore proud in this movie. RIP Richard Harris. I do miss him.

What do you think of the release date of Book 7? (7/21/2007)
To be honest, I think it is a little too soon. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to have the book coming out soon. However, I would have liked to have it later in the year just so it wouldn't be so close to the release of the movie. The one good thing about this summer is that it will be full of Harry Potter though.

Do you like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the title for Book 7? What do you think it means?
I love that title. It seems to give the book a serious, and even sombre feel to it. I think it is a hint into what the tone of the book will be like. I have read a lot of theories about the title, but I really don't know what to believe about it. I don't want to get set on one theory and think that is definitely what it means because I would probably be wrong anyway. I think I will just wait and see what JKR has in store for us with this title.

Who is one character you think will die in Book 7?
I definitely think Draco will die. I think he'll somehow switch to the good side, or at least do one good deed for the good side before dying though. I don't see how Draco could live after Book 7. I am hoping Draco dies doing something good, because I really think his character should be redeemed. I think JKR was hinting at it when she showed us that he couldn't kill Dumbledore.

If you had the opportunity to meet JK Rowling, what is one question you would ask her?
I would probably stand and shake her hand for about ten minutes without letting go. If she was still around after that ridiculous display, I would probably ask her what the two other titles she was contemplating for Book 7 were. I am sure I wouldn't get an answer, but it would never hurt to ask.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am really glad I could be chosen for Potter Profiles. It is a really cool honor to be featured on MuggleNet. Thanks to all the staff for your hard work. I am sure you guys are putting in a lot of overtime since the release date and title have come out. I hope you all realize how important the site is to the Harry Potter fandom, and I hope you all know that every visitor of the site appreciates every single staff member. On a closing note, I also wanted to say hi to my friend Veronica. She didn't beleive me when I told her I would be featured on Potter Profiles. Who's laughing now Veronica?
