Potter Profile - Lauren

May 23, 2010
First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
I had always loved the Harry Potter books and movies, but didn't become obsessed until the Goblet of Fire film came out. Then I was just like "Woah, this is awesome!" That's when I went and started reading the books/watching the movies over and over, buying random collectibles on ebay, going to London to see filming locations and Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, getting my movie theater job just to get free tickets to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (my favorite movie), playing the video games, etc.
It has been over two years since Deathly Hallows came out and we found out
how the series ended. Do you have the same reaction to the ending now, as
you did then?
I think so, yeah. I've read DH several times now and I really love how the series ended. The first time I read it (While pulling an all-nighter), during "The Forest Again" chapter, I was so upset that I almost tore my Harry Potter posters off the walls...it was not a pretty sight, but luckily I kept reading and it got better!
There are quite a few organizations/clubs at Hogwarts. Which you would rather join and why: Dueling Club, Dumbledore's Army, or S.P.E.W.?
I would love to be in Dumbledore's Army for sure. I like to think of myself as a pretty rebellious person, plus I hate Umbridge as much as anyone, and Harry is the leader so count me in!
If you could attend Hogwarts, Which class do you think would be your favorite?
Definitely Defense Against the Dark Arts (maybe not in Order of the Phoenix though). My favorite parts of the books and movies are the ones with action and dueling, so being a part of that would be amazing! I think I would also really like Transfiguration because McGonnagall is my favorite Professor.
Which class would be your best, whether you liked it or not?
Either being in the Hogwarts Choir or Quidditch (not a class, but we can pretend). I have always been in choir and I'm studying voice at college at the moment, so I would definitely fit in with the choir at Hogwarts. I think I would also be really good at Quidditch; I've played soccer, basketball, track and field, and varsity tennis, and I've always been really athletic.
Okay, be honest. We got you this year with our April Fool's story about JKR writing a Potter prequel featuring Elvendork. However, if she really wrote it, it would be so...
weird... but I wouldn't really care, I just want her to write more! And I would like to mention that I'm very guilty of falling for your April Fools jokes... every year. I SUPER fell for the one right before Deathly Hallows came out where you said Hermione was a bad guy or something? And she was secretly in Ravenclaw? I don't remember, but you got me good.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Mugglenet is so legit!!! I love you guys!!! I'd also like to give a shout out to Kaitlyn and Wallenbe!
