Potter Profile - Luke

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
Well by a bit of luck to be honest. About three or four years ago, I was at a friend's and he happened to have at that time the recently released Harry Potter & The PS/SS movie on DVD and well like some other people I didn't instantly pick up a Harry Potter book and think "Wow." My mate put the film on and immediately I was caught on, I think from the scene where Harry first glimpses Voldemort in the forest intrigued me and made me well want to find out what happens next. At the time I thought the film was fantastic and from thereafter I was adamant I would get the books. I found after watching the PS/SS movie that the books were in fact a joy to read and I think JK Rowling has done a awesome job, because to be honest I wouldn't normally pick up a book and read it. But now I cannot wait (just like I did for OOTP and HBP) for the release of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.
Which of the four Hogwarts houses would you like to belong to?
Interesting question. I'm caught in two minds between Slytherin & Gryffindor. I guess Slytherin would be where I was sorted because I would do anything to achieve my goals (well I wouldn't do what Tom Marvolo Riddle - murdering people and creating horcruxes, although me and Lord Voldemort have one thing in common - we both fear death!) did that's for sure!) but Gryffindor would be awesome too because I would like the whole bravery/courage which Neville seems to represent.
If you had the chance to act as one of the characters in the movie version of the books, who would you pick?
Oh Harry of course! At least for the first three until GOF/OOTP then I would love to play Lord Voldemort or Dumbledore in OOTP. It would be awesome to act as the hero for the first three films, and then become the arch villan or to play the ultimate wizard, Albus Dumbledore!
What are your thoughts about the upcoming fifth movie?
Cannot wait! I really can't wait to see the Ministry scenes at the end of the film and Harry's knowledge of the Prophecy, knowing that HE (definetly not Neville in my mind!) will be the one to ultimately finish the Dark Lord once and for all. It's going to be interesting to see how emotional Daniel can be as Harry and obviously the duel between Voldemort & Dumbledore is something which will hopefully be awesome. And of course when looking forward to a new Harry Potter film, I also look forward to seeing our second favourite "villain," Severus Snape! The Occlumency lessons scenes should be good!
When do you think Book 7 should be released?
Oh without a doubt either 7/7/07 or what I think would be ironic 31/7/07 or on Halloween!
Do you like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the title for Book 7? What do you think it means?
Like it? Love it more like. However I was quite skeptical at first because I initially thought well after all these great titles "Philosopher's Stone", "Goblet Of Fire" etc I thought it was a lame title on first view. But that was completely foolish of me, JK Rowling hasn't produced anything lame about the Harry Potter series. If anything "Deathly Hallows" seems so appropiate for the final book, because death will be a big theme in the final book for me. And Hallows? I think Deathly Hallows is either a new place (linked to Godrics Hollow?) or possibly linked to that Veil in the Department Of Mysteries. Quite an intriguing title!
Who is one character you think will die in Book 7?
Snape. Im not sure whether or not he'll pull off the "I'm really a good guy" act which I personally don't want to happen, but regardless of whether he tries to redeem himself or not I don't see him living come the end of Deathly Hallows. I do think he will play a part, a vital part in fact, in Voldemort's final downfall but some wounds don't seem to heal such as the Harry-Snape one and I somehow see either a fellow DE killing Snape for his "treachery" (Bellatrix. Perhaps ?) or Someone else doing it. Either way for me Severus Snape will be well and truly severed, (forgive the pun!) come the end of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.
If you had the opportunity to meet JK Rowling, what is one question you would ask her?
Well this is extremely tough, I suppose if I met her AFTER Book 7, I would ask her why such and such was killed off or if she could re-write a book which one and why?
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Yeah. First off thanks to Mandie & MuggleNet, who do an awesome job by the way, thanks guys for choosing me to be fan of the week. It sounds a bit cliché but it's an honour! I never in all honesty expected a reply but hey, I'm still honoured! MuggleNet is once again awesome, editiorials totally rule and this Fan of the Week section is also unique! I, like everyone else cannot wait for Book 7, will be awesome I know it and it's cool that I can say I have been mentioned on a website which even the great JK Rowling herself acknowledges, thanks again!
