Potter Profile - Maureen

February 1, 2009

First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
My big sister got The Deathly Hallows, and when she finished I begged her to tell me what happened. I had only really read the first book a couple years previously, and I really liked the movies, but I wasn't as into it as she was. She refused and said, "You'll have to read them all and find out!" So I did, and now I am addicted.

How are you feeling now that the series is over?
Well, at first I was devestated. I cried myself to sleep when I finished DH! But now, I'm re-reading the series for the fourth time, and I'm still enjoying it more than ever, and anticipating the release of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' movie!

Is there any character you wish had died or any character you wish hadn't died?
I didn't want anyone to die, but I REALLY wish Fred hadn't died. He was my favourite character! I even think I liked him better than George, if that's possible, haha. I knew one of the Weasley's would have to die, and personally, I wish it had been Percy.

Which Potter character do you relate to most?
Haha. Well, when I go ranting on about Harry Potter, I feel like Hermione, correcting people on Harry Potter facts and such. I've been reading as long as I can remember, and I could tell you anything about Harry Potter!

Are you excited for the movies to come, knowing how it all ends?
YES!! I have a countdown on my school binder, counting down the days till the Half-Blood Prince movie, and I'm constantly checking Mugglenet for new info or pictures. I also can't wait for DH!

How do you feel about Half-Blood Prince being pushed to July?
I remember when I heard the news. I was coming home to pick up some things, I was staying over at a friend's that night. My mom said gravely, "Oh, Maureen! You're going to be so upset." "What happened?" I asked worriedly. "Ask your sister." she said. When she told me, I actually cried! Me & my sister had been looking forward to this movie SO much! But the good thing is my birthday is 9 days before the new release date - what a perfect way to celebrate!

If you could make the decision on where Deathly Hallows would be split for movies 1 & 2, where would you split it and why?
I've thought about this a lot, and I think the first part should end when Harry follows the silver doe to the pond. I think it would be so cool for him to look down on the pond, gasp, and then it's just like 'to be continued.' It would be very dramatic, haha.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just to tell all those Harry Potter fans to believe that a great story never dies! Keep loving and supporting!
