Potter Profile - Mike

October 31, 2006

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
Well, it all started when I was about nine or ten years old. Sorcerer's Stone the movie was rumored to be coming out. Some of my friends had just found out about these books. I think that Order of the Phoenix was coming out soon also. So they got me to read them a little bit. They were just about one book ahead of me. Then, for one of their birthdays, we went to go see Sorcerer's Stone. I loved it! Then, I got on the internet, as I loved the computer. The first ever website I found that I looked for was MuggleNet. Been a frequenter ever since.

What is your favorite Harry Potter book and movie?
My favorite book is Order of the Phoenix. It just offers so much emotion and love. The story line is amazing, there is action, love, loath, plot twists, everything! Remus and Sirius just make the book so amazing. It is really inexplicable. The movie I enjoyed the most has got to be Sorcerer's Stone. It was the first, it set the mood, they did an excellent job. Plus it is part of the reason Harry was introduced into my life.

If you could be any character in the series, who would you be?
If I had to choose, I would have to say Sirius. He is just, well, so warm and caring. Sirius is a child in a man's body. He is scared to love. I just love his character and everything about him.

What is one thing you would like to see happen in Book 7?
Like most, there are two things I think deserve getting taken care of. And that is Voldemort's defeat, done by Harry, and Neville's revenge on Bellatrix. I would also like to see something be resolved between Remus and Fenrir. Something has to be done, and I am eager to see what it is.

If you could change anything about the series, what would it be?
I wouldn't change anything. That is the truth. But, for the purpose of the question, I would say that I would've liked Sirius to be given a proper burial or maybe even lived longer just so he can be cleared and spend some time with Harry. His life was far too short.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Harry Potter and everything around it has opened up a new world for me. It is a feeling I hope will never end, but if and when it does, I will look back on all the good times I've had, and smile. Staying up late and reading until morning, secretly buying the latest movie on television, even though I'm not supposed to, the forum communities, everything. There will never be another Harry Potter, so enjoy the times you have right now while you can.
