Potter Profile - Natalie

March 17, 2006

Give us your review of Half-Blood Prince.
I liked Half Blood Prince a lot! I loved the romance parts of it the best. I hadn't really thought of Harry and Ginny getting together before HBP but when I picked up on the hints in it (the Amortentia was the first) I turned into a major H/G fan! The main part about HBP I didn't really like, like a Potter Head said a while ago, was Harry getting really obsessed about Malfoy and his evil plans. I'm not sure whether it was totally in his character or not. Despite that, over all, it was a really good book.

Did you like the fourth movie or not and why?
Yes I did. Dan Radcliffe and David Tennants's (Barty Crouch Jr.) acting was fantastic in this. Well done to them! I also liked the scene with Snape, Ron and Harry in the study hall setting (very funny!). However I agree with all the people who wondered why on earth Dumbledore was being so violent with Harry. He only gets really angry with Death Eaters and Voldemort (‘the only one he ever feared', ring a bell?)

If you could spend the day as one EVIL character from the books, who would it be?
I don't know whether this can count, but maybe Grindewald or someone close to him, if I was allowed to go back in time, or be a dead person. The books were brief about that and it would be very interesting to know what happened then and see what happened.

Which GOOD character would you want to be for a day?
Oooh, this is a difficult one. Lily Potter I think (if I can go back in time/ be a dead person here as well). She was said to be a fantastic witch and one of the main characters of the books. And I'd want to ‘turn tea cups into rats' as well (Sly quote there, folks!). Or Hagrid maybe, as I'm not a tall person and it would be nice to be tall for a day.

If you could have any magical power what would it be?
Probably either to Apparate; to save large amounts of time and help me immensely, or to be able to read people's minds; which would help me immensely yet again.

What is your favourite moment of the series so far?
Ah, you can't beat the Harry/Ginny kiss in Book 6. However much J.K. Rowling enjoyed writing that, I enjoyed reading it double the amount.

Is Snape REALLY good or evil and is Dumbledore REALLY dead?
Hmm, very difficult again! I'm currently rereading HBP and after I finished reading the book before, I thought Snape was most likely evil, but after reading editorials I thought that maybe he could be good. Now I can't decide again. Now for Dumbledore. I think it is most likely that he is dead, but if it turned out that he wasn't, I wouldn't be surprised. His death and his burial are just so mysterious and confusing that I can't decide. Plus it's J.K Rowling's work we're talking about here. As the Mugglecasters say, ‘No Theory is Safe' …

Will Harry survive the 7th book?
I hope he does and like Ryan said last week, if Jo does kill him off, most of the nation will hate her or be sharpening their pitchforks.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I do have a theory about RAB and Voldemort. Maybe there isn't such a person. I was reading an editorial, which said that it would be really hard for ‘RAB' to switch a Horcrux with a fake one. Maybe it wasn't switched. Maybe Voldemort made up ‘RAB', put a fake Horcrux with a fake note inside, in the cave as a red herring and extra protection for his Horcruxes. Voldermort is not stupid and I'm sure that he would have the sense to have some fake Horcruxes. The extra protection on the cave would encourage thoughts that the Horcrux must be real. It's the perfect twist.

Now, to get on potter profile this week I made up a poem using the sorting hat song in Harry's first year, which Greg has asked me to post up, so here it is:

PS. No offense with the delusional phrase. I just need to some thing to rhyme with Musical J
(<< Editor's note: in other words, “Please, delusional H/H shippers, don't kill me!” >>)

Oh you may not think I'm worth it
To be Potter Head this week,
But I'll burn all my HP copies if
You find a bigger potter geek.
You can keep your Lord of the Rings
And Roald Dahl Books because,
This 14 year-old sees
Harry Potter as the best books of all!
Natalie is my name,
And I happen to be musical,
I come from Great Britain
And I am not delusional.
For many reasons you will find
For this week to pick me,
Such as for my love
For the great Harry P,
Or it may be for my theory
About the Dark Lord,
Which is quite good and
Will not leave you bored.
Or finally, the fact I've spent a day or two,
Writing and thinking
Of this poem for you.
So think of me, I beg,
When you are Profile picking,
But personally if I was you
I'd pick Natalie King!!!
