Potter Profile - Hector

February 15, 2004
Well how do I describe my love for hp? I love to read the books and start drawing the Hogwarts castle and the forest and every single place in the book. I start reading and it's like going to another dimension, it's incredible. And then I watch the movies and it's completely different than what I imagined but it's still great. I love everything about HP — the characters, the story, the mystery, everything.
How and when did you get in to Harry Potter?
I got into the Harry Potter books two years ago. My 7th grade English teacher told us to buy the books — well she didn't tell us, she ordered us — so I bought the first two but never read them. Then when I was in 8th grade I got sick one day and had nothing to do, so I started reading Harry Potter and the Sorecerer's Stone and from the first page it got me, I couldn't stop reading.
Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?
My favorite so far is Harry Potter and the Order Of the Phoenix. It was great but I'm sure book 6 and 7 will be better.
What character can you relate to most?
Ron, I think. I've always had friends that are popular and good at a lot of stuff but I'm not. I would only like to be as brave as he is.
Are you satisfied with the handling of the "boy/girl stuff" in book 5?
Yes. Because there's nothing clear, so that's another reason to read book 6 and 7, to see who ends up with who.
What did you think was the most exciting thing that happened in book 5? What was the most disturbing? What left the biggest impression on you?
The most exciting was definitely when they're in the Deparment of Mysteries fighting and running from the Death Eaters. The most disturbing was Siruis' death, Harry only had two years with someone close enough to a parent. And well the bravery all of them showed at the Department of Mysteries, I wish I could be half as brave.
Was the character that died the one you thought it would be? (Be honest now!)
I didn't even know someone was going to die!
Which house would you like to be in and why? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?
I think Slytherin maybe. I do lots of things that I shouldn't, I screw up a lot with my friends, sometimes I think I don't know how to be a good friend or even a good person.
Do you have any interesting HP stories to share?
Well if it counts, a friend of mine and I like to "duel" with drumsticks. We laugh a lot making up spells and stuff, but at school they think we're childish, and my friend and his girlfriend get mad at each other because of that.
Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
My only prediction is that Ron and Hermione are ending up together. I'm not good at solving mysteries so I don't have any theories.
