Potter Profile - Holly

January 25, 2004

Hey, everyone. It's me, yet another Potterholic. I, too, am waiting impatiently for June 21st to come around. I'm also reading and rereading the existing books and craving to go to Hogwarts. I do the "dirty work" for Potter Profiles, and I have an HP site of my own. It consists mainly of my favorite fanfics and info. Aside from Harry's world, I do other things (if you can believe it). Dance is one of my passions. I take tap, jazz/hip-hop, and classical ballet classes. I like to drive around and do stuff with my best friend, Megan. We do what my sister calls "karaoke-car," which is driving and singing at the top of your lungs. I love I Love Lucy, my favorite color is pink, and I also love The Wizard of Oz. Anyway, that's me in a not-so-Snitch-sized nutshell.

How and when did you get into Harry Potter?
Well, I used to make fun of Megan for reading the existing books (I think there were only 3 then). She wasn't obsessed, she just liked them a lot. Then last year in November, I had the strange urge to see the movie after seeing a trailer on TV, and we went to see it. I instantly fell in love. I read all 4 books in about 4 or 5 days straight. I don't go to school anymore, so I had plenty of time. I've been in love ever since.

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is by far my favorite book so far in the series (although I'm sure when The Order of the Phoenix comes out it will be my new favorite). I love PoA because it introduces Sirius and Lupin, and it tells us more about Lily and James. I really hope we find out a LOT more about them in the next books. Peter (and Voldemort for that matter) should suffer a slow and painful death, if you ask me. I'm sure everyone agrees with me on that one, though.

What character can you relate to most?
I believe I'm a mixture of the trio, the twins, and Hagrid. I'm like Hagrid because I LOVE animals and am going to be a veterinarian. I'm like Harry for his bravery and fairness; Ron because I'm a redhead and my family leaves me out because I'm the youngest and a lot younger than my brother and sister; and Hermione because I'm smart (although I hardly study at all). I'm like the twins because I love to laugh and make people laugh. Plus if I went to Hogwarts (one can only hope), I'd love to walk around the halls and looks at all the paintings and go in secret passages and stuff. A huge castle like Hogwarts must be extremely fascinating to be in.

What do you think of the inevitable boy/girl stuff coming in book 5?
I don't think the next book will be too "mushy." It'll more than likely be perfectly proportioned, just like the other books. Love is a part of adolescence and life, so it's essential to Harry's life as well. Plus it'll add to the plot and give us more to guess about.

Who do you think Harry will "hook up" with in book 5? What about Ron?
I don't think Harry will end up with Cho. I think she's just one of those crushes who is never attainable. Cho is still hung up on Cedric anyway. It takes time. It's one thing to break up with someone, but it's a whole other ballgame for someone to die. Maybe he'll go with Fleur. That would fuel Ron to be more jealous, which is inevitable. Harry could also end up with Ginny or someone else. Who knows.

I also think Ron will go out with Hermione. It may mess up their friendship. They will realize their friendship is more important, break up, and work through the awkwardness. The way they act makes it obvious they have feelings for each other.

What character do you think will die in book 5?
I believe either Ron or Hagrid will die. I'm leaning more towards Hagrid, though, because Ron may die later in the series. If you want explanations, look at the Book 5 theories page, because most of my basis is there. However, JKR could be going for that whole "it's the last person you think" twist.

Which school house would you want to be in? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?
Well, of course I'd like to be in Gryffindor (who wouldn't), but I might be considered for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, too. While I'm brave, I'm also trustworthy and smart, so it could be difficult; but I think I'd be in Gryffindor because I'm pretty much fearless. I wouldn't even be considered for Slytherin because... I'm just not like that.

Do you have any interesting HP stories to share?
I don't know about interesting, but I know a funny story. One night last year I was playing the trivia game with Megan's sister. She was reading the question to me and one of the answer choices was Voldemort. Instead of just saying his name she decided to be funny so she got a terrified look on her face, looked around, and whispered, "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named". So Megan, who was watching TV, suddenly yells FREAKS! and we all laughed forever about it.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I have lots of theories, too many to put on here, but here's one:

I think the Order of the Phoenix will not be a covert group. I believe there will be a group to fight Voldemort, but that won't be its name. Harry probably won't have much to do with the group because Dumbledore will think Harry's too young, and he can't do magic outside of Hogwarts. Dumbledore did say he showed courage beyond his years, but I still don't think he'd let him into a group like that. And if Harry wasn't in the group, why would it be in the title of the book? Harry may jump in and save their butts in the end, but he still won't be in the group.

I think the Order of the Phoenix is an award. The Order of Merlin could be foreshadowing. Maybe Harry will get the award when he helps the covert group. I guess we won't know until June 21st.

I'd like to say hi to everyone in the world, even if I don't know you. And keep sending in your applications.

Long live Lily and James!

I don't know who Maxime thinks she's kidding. If Hagrid's half-giant, she definately is. Big bones... the only thing that's got bigger bones than her is a dinosaur.
