Potter Profile - Nicole

November 9, 2003

Let's see...I think that the books are very great. I used to not like it but that was before I read the books and now I'm really hooked on it! I've seen both the movies and I think that they are really awesome and I hope that the third one is even better..

How and when did you get in to Harry Potter?
I don't remember how I got into Harry Potter but I remember my brother getting all four books for Christmas about 2 years ago and I knew that I would be hooked. It was when I was in the 7th grade that I realized that I was absolutely hooked. The books were all I ever read and I'm sure I've read all of them over ten times for sure.

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?
My favorite book would definitely have to be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because I think that Lupin is the coolest teacher, and because we (and Harry) get to meet Sirius Black — someone who was very close with his father and knows him very well. Just like family, Harry and Sirius I'm sure have had many common things happen to them in their pasts.

What character can you relate to most?
I think I can relate to Ron the most because I do slack a little in school and really try to make it all up at the last moment. I may not be from a big family like Ron but I've been given hand-me-downs too.

Are you satisfied with the handling of the "boy/girl stuff" in book 5?
Not to be mean, but...no. I wished that Cho wouldn't have gotten so angry and that something more had happened between Hermione and Ron. They make a cute couple and everything and I wished that I could have read something more than the little "Quidditch Kiss."

What did you think was the most exciting thing that happened in book 5? What was the most disturbing? What left the biggest impression on you?
Heh, the most exciting thing was when Cho kissed Harry. I thought it was extremely cute, lol. The most disturbing part would have to when Harry had to go to detention with Umbridge and he had to write and the quill he used literally went into his skin. *shudders and looks at her hand* How weird! The biggest impression I think was when Neville went with Harry and the others all the way at the end even through the big fights. Way to keep it going, Neville!

Was the character that died the one you thought it would be? (Be honest now!)
No, heh, I thought the character that would die would be Lupin because at the end of the 4th book when Wormtail loses his hand, You-Know-Who gave him a silver hand and since werewolves have that whole thing with silver...

Which house would you like to be in and why? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?
I would like to be in Gryffindor (not just because that's the house that Harry and the good people are in) but I suppose I'm brave and stand up for myself and my friends. I don't think the Sorting Hat would put me into that house. Most likely, I'd be put in Hufflepuff — but that isn't bad either.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I'm just hoping that Professor Lupin will come back to teach in the 6th book. I heard that he was coming back in book 5 but was kinda disappointed when he didn't. I think Tonks is the coolest new character! I hope something big happens between Hermione and Ron in later books, too.

Harry looked up, diverted. The circumstance of Ron having read a book that Hermione had not was unprecedented.
