Potter Profile - Weston

March 6, 2002

This interview was conducted by Emerson on a warm, sunny day in Ma-- ok then, on with the interview!

MuggleNet: How and when did you get in to Harry Potter?
Weston: Fall 1999, I was in English class and my best friend handed me the book she was reading: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone". I read it, loved it and I've been hooked since.

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?
Book 3, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". It is my favorite because it's not set up like any of the others. It has a certain charm to it...lots of plot twists.

What character can you relate to most?
Seamus Finnigan. I am like him because I have a deep hobby myself...instead of it being Quidditch, mine would have to be reality television [e.g. Big Brother]. My friends think I am insane just the same.

What do you think of the inevitable boy/girl stuff coming in book 5?
Being a hormone-driven teen, I think it's cool. I was wondering when some boy/girl action was going to happen. But of course, I just expect it to be dating and kissing. Nothing hot and heavy.

Who do you think Harry will "hook up with" in book 5? What about Ron?
I think Harry could possibly have a love circle with Hermione, Ron, and Ginny...Harry likes Hermione...But Hermione likes Ron...Ron likes Hermione back...and Ginny likes Harry. Things will get complicated and end in a melancholy mood. I do suspect that Viktor will show up in this book, I just don't know what type of role he'll play.

What character do you think will die in book 5?
I really do believe it will be Hagrid. I say this because the actor, Robbie Coltrane was on Rosie O'Donell and Rosie asked him if he was signed up for all 7 movies and he replied "sort of". JKR also has said that the death would be "horrible to write" and it doesn't get much more horrible to write then that does it?

Which school house would you want to be in? Do you think the sorting hat would place you in that house?
I would want to be in the Ravenclaw house amazingly. I think the sorting hat would probably put me in Hufflepuff though. :(

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out, praise for yours truly?
I am the biggest Arkansas Harry Potter fan. And I hope to meet J.K. Rowling someday to thank her for such a wonderful series of mystery, adventure, and intrigue. I would also like to give a shout out to a few of my friends, Karen, Mitchell, Andrew, Brent, and of course, Mogenic.
