Potter Profile - Rachel

September 19, 2010

First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
The first time I read the books in second grade I was hooked! My friends was reading SS and she was always talking about how good it was and she was always telling me to read it, so since I liked to read, I got it from the library and loved it. Then I began to spread the word about the best book ever! Ever since then I've been reading them over and over again.

It has been over three years since Deathly Hallows came out and we found out how the series ended. Do you have the same reaction to the ending now, as you did then?
Every time I read it is sort of like the first time, even though I know what is going to happen (and basically know it word for word) I still get sacred and nervous for Harry and everyone and of course I still cry every time. The only thing I don't like is in the Epilogue it leaves some unanswered questions, I always think of different things that could have happened, but i would love to ask J.K Rowling, what kind of answers she would give to my questions.

Deathly Hallows: Part 1 was screened in Chicago to a very lucky audience, including some MuggleNet staff members! If you read the reviews, what did you think? If you didn't read them, why not?
I didn't read them because I don't want to know too much about the movie before it comes out. The first time I see I don't to be thinking about what everyone else thought of the film, but it has been really hard not to read them, so I need to stay strong and not read them!!!!

The Deathly Hallows movie split was announced this month via Entertainment Weekly. If you read the spoiler, what do you think? Where would YOU split the movie?
I read it and I like where they put it. It's the same spot I was thinking it should go before I read the article. I think it makes a lot of sense where they put it and is the perfect spot for a split!

WWoHP had it's 1,000,000th visitor this month - already! Have you visited the park, or have plans to? What were/are you most excited to see/visit?
I have plans to visit soon!!! It looks so much fun. From the picture and videos I've seen of it it looks really awesome and authentic! I can't wait to go!! I'm most excited about Hogsmeade, and going to the three broom sticks and having butter beer!!! I think butter beer looks so delicious and I've always wanted to try it!!!

Harry Potter: The Exhibition announced that it's final US stop was going to be Seattle! If you've made it to the exhibition, what did you think? If not, are you excited for the Seattle stop?
I went to the Boston Exhibition, it was so cool, I spent hours in there looking at everything. It was so cool to see every thing, and it was funny to see the costumes from the first couple films, they were so tiny!!! When I finally left I couldn't speak, I was so amazed!!! I would definitely go again in Seattle if I lived a bit closer. So if you haven't gone and can go in Seattle, you need to go!

OMG! Emma cut her hair off! Love it, or dislike it?
I love it, she is so beautiful she can pull off any cut! I totally understand her wanting to change her hair like that, I go for a year and I can't wait to change my hair.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would like to say thank you to MuggleNet, keeping me up to date on all the HP news and many other things. They are always on top of things. And thank you to J.K Rowling for writing Harry Potter because I don't know what I would do without it!
