Potter Profile - Sana

June 6, 2010
First off, how did you become a Harry Potter fan?
I hate to admit this, but my older brother was a Potter fan before me. When the fifth book came out, he was all excitement and red cheeks. When I asked if I could read Order of the Phoenix too, (I had to see what the fuss was about!) he told me I was too young. I, of course, HAD to read them after that. I proudly stalked to his room, and took all of his Harry Potter books. After reading the first twenty or so pages of Philosophers stone, I was enraptured. Gone were my days of fantasizing about princes and castles, instead I imagined myself duelling alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione (you dont want to know how 10-year old Sana pronounced Hermione).
It has been over two years since Deathly Hallows came out and we found out
how the series ended. Do you have the same reaction to the ending now, as
you did then?
After I finished Deathly Hallows for the first time, I cried. Well, I balled my eyes out. It had finally sunk in that Potter was over. Sure, there were still a few movies left, but its not the same as the excitement of getting the newest Potter instalment and seeing if all your theories (and all the theories you stole from Mugglenet and pretended were yours... cough-) were right. Plus, I felt it was only fair that I cried for all the lives lost RIP battle of Hogwarts casualties. After I stopped crying, though, I woke up my brother to tell him I finished first because I was a bigger fan. Okay, maybe that was a little cruel but all is fair in love and Potter.
Although I dont cry after re-reading Deathly Hallows now, I do still bother my brother. Ill force him to talk about the books with me, and how the epilogue wasnt that bad. In all seriousness, though, after I finish the book now, Im not as naive. I realize that Potter will never actually be over!
There are quite a few organizations/clubs at Hogwarts. Which you would rather join and why: Dueling Club, Dumbledore's Army, or S.P.E.W.?
Assuming Ginny Weasley still chaired the Harry Potter fan club, thats what I would join!... Haha, no.
I would join Dumbledores Army. Im definitely brash and impulsive enough to join without worrying about the consequences. Plus, assuming Id be a Gryffindor at Hogwarts, how much would I suck if I didnt join the DA?
If you could attend Hogwarts, Which class do you think would be your favorite?
If I could attend Hogwarts, Id be the luckiest girl the world! ... Sorry, couldnt help it.
If I could attend Hogwarts, my favourite class would be charms. I imagine it would be a lot of fun learning different spells and getting to practice them with my friends. I would totally be a Hermione correcting peoples pronunciation, though.
Which class would be your best, whether you liked it or not?
Id probably be the best at Divination. Im pretty good and making things up and spinning odd tales. Id be ready every time Trelawney would ask me about my future.
Okay, be honest. We got you this year with our April Fool's story about JKR writing a Potter prequel featuring Elvendork. However, if she really wrote it, it would be so...
AWESOME! Not so much the title, but the fact the she was writing a prequel. Anything written by JK. Rowling has to amazing. Its like, a rule. :P
But Elevendork, really, guys? :P I did fall for it, though. I was so excited! I literally think my heart skipped a beat.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
To all the people still angry about the epilogue: I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school... I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy... :P
Id just like to say, thank you so much, Mugglenet! Without you, I would waste hours every morning scouring the internet for Harry Potter related news. Also, Kat, you rock for picking me. :P
