Potter Profile - Stephanie

How did you become a fan of Harry Potter?
When the first Harry Potter movie came out, and I thought I'd go see it with all of my aunts and cousins who were going, to see what the fuss was about. I was sick of hearing Harry Potter all over the news, and being out of the loop and not know what was going on. After watching the movie in complete awe, I bought or borrowed and read all four of the books as soon as I possibly could. After that, I went crazy about everything Harry Potter, and am proud to be a HUGE Harry Potter nerd.

Which of the four Hogwarts houses would you like to belong to?
Most definitely Hufflepuff!!! People say it's bland, because it's the most inclusive, but I like it because it mostly values loyalty, fairness, and patience. Those three qualities are some of the most important to me, there are also Gryffindor and Ravenclaw qualities I think are important, but I belong in Hufflepuff.

If you had the chance to act as one of the characters in the movie version of the books, who would you pick?
TONKS!!! She is my absolute favorite character in the book, not only does she have an overall friendly demeanor, but being major klutzes is something we also have in common. I really like that she is a Metamorphmagus, I think that would be a really, really fun ability to have, and just like her, I would like to change my hair to funky colors at will. I think she would just be a fun character to play because while she has an easy going and friendly attitude, she's also a tough for a new Auror and can kick butt when she wants to.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming fifth movie?
I think it's going to be amazing!! There are probably going to be a lot of amazing scenes I really want to see that won't be in there, but I understand there are time constraints. I'm really going to be sad if they don't have the Fred/George escape scene from Hogwarts, it's their greatest moment ever!! Overall, I think the presentation is going to be better than previous movies, and I know I'm going to be on the floor bawling like a baby by the end.

What do you think of the release date of Book 7? (7/21/2007)
It's right in the middle of summer, just like I thought it would be, so I'm very glad. I think it's weird though that it's right after the 5th movie comes out, I think I might have a Harry Potter overload and go into shock but it looks like this will be a really incredible summer.

Do you like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the title for Book 7? What do you think it means?
It does sound kind of weird, but I know J.K. Rowling did that for a reason, and we'll all find out the significance behind it after we read the book. I think it might have something to do either the Death Eaters, or maybe some new little hide-out Harry has yet to discover. One of the biggest possibilities I've thought of is that it means some kind of scary new creature, sort of like a cross between the Inferi and Dementors.

Who is one character you think will die in Book 7?
Snape, because he needs to be redeemed for all of his past deeds, and I think he wants to be, and dying by helping or saving Harry will be the only way to do it. He needs to be redeemed because of his first tour as a Death Eater, for what he did while spying for both sides, and he probably feels really guilty for having to do what he did at the end of the sixth book (Dumbledore told him to do it).

If you had the opportunity to meet JK Rowling, what is one question you would ask her?
I would ask her what she wanted for dinner. I would ask her if she needed any help at home, make her and her family a gigantic dinner of all their favorite food, because one of the best ways to thank a person is to make them really, really yummy food, and I would thank her profusely for giving Harry to the world.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thanks MuggleNet for featuring me, and for being my #1 Harry Potter website. I love all of the features and editorials!! Also, thanks to Mandie for all of her work! I'd also like to give a shout out to all of my suite mates, Rachel, Sarah, Ashtyn, and Jen, who are just as crazy about Harry Potter, y'all rock!! And finally, thanks to all of the loyal Harry Potter fans who try to keep Harry from being banned from our libraries, as most great books are.
