Potter Profile - Vicky

Give us your review of Half-Blood Prince.
I think that the HBP is the best book so far and I was pleased with it because it answered a lot of questions that had been on my mind. I enjoyed finding out about Voldemort's past, it made me understand why he turned out so evil. The Horcruxes were a great explanation for why he did not die when the Avada Kedavra spell rebounded onto him, I look forward to reading about Harry's quest for the remaining Horcruxes in Book 7. I still have some unanswered questions but I'm sure that everything will be made clear in Book 7.

Did you like the third movie or not and why?
I liked the third movie a lot, I was very pleased with the dementors because I was just expected some tall person in a cloak. I think Gary Oldman was a good choice for Sirius Black, though he is a little scary! I don't think much of Draco's new hair cut though, it's a bit dodgy. Even though some things were cut from the film, I think it was pretty good overall.

If you could spend the day as one character from the books, who would it be?
Luna Lovegood. She's away in her dreamworld most of the day, which I would like to visit. She dresses how she likes, not caring what people think. I know that if I went out with radishes for earrings where I live, I would get egged down the street most probably! I'd love to be oblivious to the world around me, not caring what people say or think. I worry too much.

What is your favorite moment of the series so far?
I liked the Department of Mysteries fight at the end of OOTP. I loved the parts when Ron goes funny in the brain ('Harry. we saw Uranus up close!') it made me laugh. But of course, Sirius dying was NOT my favourite part of the book, though I wanted someone to put their hand through the veil and see what was there, that would've been good.

Is Snape REALLY good or evil and is Dumbledore REALLY dead?
I have been thinking a lot about Snape and my final answer is he was once evil, but has seen the error of his ways and came to the good side. I'm starting to feel sorry for him now, he was forced to kill the only wizard who ever trusted him. Unfortunately, I've had to realise that Dumbledore IS dead. I cried buckets when I read the final part of that chapter, I couldn't help thinking, NO! It's Dumbledore, he can't die, he's too magic to die. But if he wasn't dead Harry wouldn't have been free from the body bind curse. I think I need counselling to get over his death.

Do you have anything else you'd like to add? Maybe a theory you've concocted, a shout-out?
I have no theories that haven't already been mentioned somewhere on this site, unfortunately. Hi to my sister's friend Vicki, who is also a fan of Harry Potter and this site.

Quotes
They make a fuss about Hogsmeade, but I assure you, Harry, it's not all it's cracked up to be. All right, the sweetshop's rather good, and Zonko's Joke Shop is frankly dangerous, and yes, the Shrieking Shack's always worth a visit, but really, Harry, apart from that you're not missing anything.
