The Story of Harry

To the tune of Traveling Soldier preformed by The Dixie Chicks, written by Bruce Robinson and Farrah Braniff.

One day past eleven,
He was one the floor in a cold wet cabin.
A bang on the door, a giant was there,
He sat on a couch and shook out his hair.
Harry was scared but Hagrid gave him a smile
And he said: "Would you mind me sittin' down for a while?
I've come here to tell you that Vernon is a liar."
Then he sat on a couch and then he lit a fire.
So they went down to Alley Diagon
And bought Harry things like a wand and cauldron.
He got an owl named Hedwig too,
And a ticket for a train that would take him to his school.

Harry, never gonna be just another guy
Too young to fight the Dark Lord
He even has Gryffindor's sword.
Ron is his best friend
And Black is never gonna come back again
Harry can speak parsletougue and Rowling says
Cho'll never be his chum.

So he got to school and he went to class
He learned how to play wizard's chess,
In potions class he hates the teacher
But to make up for it he's a really good seeker.
For Christmas Harry got an invisibility cloak
To find Nick Flammel was his hope
Instead he found his heart's desire
Sittin' just on the other side of a mirror.

Harry, never gonna' be just another guy
Too young to fight the Dark Lord
He's even got Gryffindor's sword.
Ron is his best friend
And Black is never gonna' come back again

On a sunny day after all their exams,
The trio was chilling out on the grounds
And Harry said, "Isn't it odd
That a man would be interested in a dog?"
So that night they went through the trapdoor
And Harry finally met Voldemort.
He fought for the stone and gave Quirrel a shove
His life was saved by the power of love.
