Advanced Game Questions
Q: Where can I buy the game?
A: At most hobby shops, retail stores, toy stores as well as online sites such as the official website and auction sites.
Q: What are the recommended ages for this game?
A: The game box recommends ages 9 and up, but so long as the child playing understands what they is happening in the game and what they are doing, it shouldn’t be a problem if they are younger than 9.
Q: How much will the game cost?
Depends what you want. If you want to just collect the cards, I recommend you stick to buying the packs. They come with 11 cards (1 rare (1 out of 3 pack’s rares is a holo), 2 uncommons, 6 commons, and 2 lessons), which has a suggested price of $3.29. Some stores sell packs for around $1.00 to $1.50. Or if you’re a die-hard collector, you can buy a box of 36 booster packs, which will be around $20.00 to $40.00 depending where you get it from and what series the box is. If you want to play the game, we suggest a couple packs and a starter, which has 2-41 card decks so you can begin (NOTE: Most decks have 61 cards, but this is to just teach you), suggested retail is $9.99. It’s always best to look around first and always try online for cheap deals.
Q: Is the game hard to play?
A: Playing the starter game is a very easy game to play, but the advanced game is a little more difficult(not much though, there is only a couple new kinds of cards that make it a bit harder and there are more cards to a deck.)
Q: Are these cards really worth anything?
A: Yes, some of them. Depending on the market and if the card if a holo or not, some cards can sell for almost 15 dollars, but of course they're really worth the same as any other card with the same rarity, since you have the same odds off getting that card compared to any other. For instance the Harry Potter card can sell for 15 dollars, cause either he's really good or because he is the star, but you have the same odds of getting that as Dean Thomas.
Q: Will there be a league?
A: Yes, there is a league. Most comic book stores and hobby stores should hold tournaments for you to compete in.
Q: Will there be other sets?
A: Yes, there are currently four expansions of the base set, Quidditch, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and Chamber of Secrets, for more info checkout our expansions page here.
Q: What’s the official site's address?
A:wizards.com/harrypotter.
