Making Decks

Here are some helpful little tips and rules to making decks. If you have any others please e-mail them to me.

  • Your deck must have exactly 60 cards in it including your starting character.
  • You are only aloud four copies of any type of card and as many Lessons as you want.
  • When you make your first deck, stick to 1 or 2 Lesson types.(The instruction manual says 2 or 3, but I find it difficult to actually adapt with on, if it is in with 2 others. You do better with one on one interaction with the types to start out with.)
  • Depending on the types of lessons you have, you should even it out. Let's say you had a card that cost 10 transfiguration. You're not going to be able to get it out if you have 8 lessons. Even with 10, you never know when that last lesson will be at the bottom of the deck. It is also important not to overload with lessons. You don't want your entire hand to be lessons. Be sensible. My reccomendations are as followed: 5 lesson types-5 of each lesson(25): 4-5 of each(20): 3-6 of each(18): 2-8 of each(16): 1-14 at least.
  • House decks are good decks to make. A house deck consists mainly of cards that say a house’s name on it. Transfigaration is for Gryffndor, Charms are for Ravenclaw, Potions are for Slytherine, and Care of Magical Creatures is for Hufflepuff.
  • Try not to put in too many high lesson cards. Such as cards that require 6 or more lessons to play. Try not to be too dependant upon those cards.
  • Be careful as well of cards that make you discard lessons. There are a lot of creature cards that make you discard at least one Care of Magical Creatures lesson when you play them. If you have that kind, be sure you have some reserve of that lesson somewhere in your deck.
