MuggleNet SnitchCenter Interviews Actor Matthew Ziff at Quidditch World Cup

by Keith Hawk · November 17, 2011

This past weekend at the Quidditch World Cup in New York, MuggleNet discovered that one of the quidditch players on the University of Miami team was actor Matthew Ziff. So SnitchCenter went out and interviewed him about his upcoming movie.

Ziff has been acting and modeling his entire life and had actually been on both The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien by the age of 10. When he is not studying or playing quidditch for the University of Miami, he is promoting his new film, Hardflip, which is scheduled to come out sometime in January 2012.

In fact, after the fifth Quidditch World Cup ended late Sunday night, Ziff left for California to attend the film’s premiere at the ArcLight Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

MuggleNet SnitchCenter will have plenty of videos and over 1,000 photos available from the Quidditch World Cup for your viewing pleasure very soon, but you can watch our interview with Matthew Ziff right now below.

Full Transcript with Matthew Ziff, Sunday, November 13, 2011

Transcribed by Marissa Osman

Keith Hawk: MuggleNet Snitch Center here and this is the second day of the Quidditch World Cup, but right now I am with Matthew Ziff. Matthew Ziff is a player for the University of Miami. Tell us a little bit about yourself, Matt.

Matthew Ziff: I'm a junior at UM studying Industrial Engineering and I'm a Beater and a Seeker. I have been since the beginning of UM's Muggle Quidditch. We're having fun.

Keith: How did you guys do so far this week?

Matthew: Right now we're 3-0 with our average scoring being over a hundred points. We're going up against Vassar right now, and we're hoping to take it all home.

Keith: I heard a rumor - I don't know if it's true - that you have a movie coming out this Thursday? Is that correct?

Matthew: Yes. I'm an actor. I have a movie coming out on Thursday called Hardflip premiering in L. A. It's a skateboarding movie with John Schneider and Rosanna Arquette.

Keith: And what part are you playing?

Matthew: I am playing one of the main character's brothers. It's like a cross between an inspirational and a sports movie. We had a lot of fun and it's going to be a really good movie. The movie is premiering Thursday in L. A. It's called Hardflip and it should be in theaters soon!

Keith: That's great. You heard it right here on MuggleNet's Snitch Center. [It's the] second day of the live 5th Annual World Quidditch Cup here in Randall's Island, New York. Matt Ziff with the University of Miami coming out with a movie.
