‘AUROR’S TALE’ to make first public appearance at UtopYA Con 2012 this July

by Keith Hawk · June 27, 2012

Get ready as the cast of AUROR’S TALE makes it’s first public appearance at the first ever UtopYA Con in Nashville, Tennessee on July 6-8! This young adult conference is especially for women authors of paranormal fantasy & the fans who love them.

UtopYA Con 2012 is a conference for both authors and fans to come together and share their love for stories involving dystopian futures, supernatural creatures, angels & demons, wizards and everything in between. Whether attendees are aspiring or established YA authors or just avid readers of the paranormal genre, the panels are filled with experts and will have something for everyone. There will also be special signings and meet-and-greet opportunities. UtopYA was founded and funded by Janet Wallace, owner of Social Deviants, and put together by a team of volunteers. It’s truly a labor of love from fans and aspiring authors in the Nashville area.

So where can you expect AUROR’S TALE at UtopYA? The co-creators will be appearing on two panels: “Power of the Fans” and “Fan Fiction: Career Killer or Springboard to Success?” Both panels deal directly with fan universe storytelling and how to build buzz, gain a following and how to harness that power for good. The cast will also be appearing in our booth to meet the fans, as well as sign cast photos and some other cool goodies.

In addition, AUROR’S TALE is excited to announce that cast member and award-winning nationally best-selling Gothic paranormal fantasy YA author Leanna Renee Hieber will appear on the panel “Damsel In Distress vs. Bad Ass Babe: A Look at Gender Roles in YA” which discusses empowerment amongst female heroines as opposed to the stereotypical girls-in-need-of-rescuing. Leanna will also appear in the booth to sign copies of DARKER STILL, the first novel in her Magic Most Foul series. DARKER STILL can be found on Kid’s/YA Indie Next List as a recommended title by the American Booksellers Association, has been selected for a Scholastic edition as a “Highly Recommended” title and is a 2012 finalist in the Daphne du Maurier Awards for excellence in Mystery / Romantic suspense.

Several of the AUROR’S TALE cast will appear at the conference, both in panels and at our booth, as a countdown to the end of our Kickstarter campaign on the night of July 6. Featured cast members include screenwriter/co-creator Cassandra Johnstone (who portrays Eleonore “Beta” Twist), director/co-creator Leo Kei Angelos (who plays Lokai Hawthorne), actor Christopher Lopez (who plays Felix Quintero) and as mentioned earlier, actress and best-selling YA author Leanna Renee Hieber (who portrays Deputy Margaret Kellion).

Don’t forget, the AUROR’S TALE Kickstarter campaign ends July 6! The project is trying to reach $30K in 30 days and you can help.

Come celebrate the end of the campaign with us at UtopYA! Tickets are available now on Eventbrite here for only $65 for all three days! Get yours now!

Did You Know

So many fans visit King’s Cross Station to take pictures of Platforms 9 and 10 that the station management erected a sign that says “Platform 9 3/4,” which, in the Harry Potter books, is invisible to Muggles but acts as a gateway for witches and wizards.
