MuggleNet Fan Fiction Thursday: “In the Deeps”

This week’s MuggleNet Fan Fiction featured story is, in fact, not a story. Today’s piece is a wonderful poem by the very talented minnabird.

The poem, “In the Deeps”, explores the work of the Unspeakables in the Department of Mysteries, it’s three sections portraying the life of an unspeakable as he delves deeper into the department, and discovers things perhaps best left unspoken.

Please note: This poem holds allusions to character death.

“In the deeps, below, below,
Far beneath the well-trod floor,
There no man shall go, shall go
Who hath not the secret lore.”

The poem was inspired by the song ‘Severus and Lily’ from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 soundtrack. We love to embrace creativity and inspiration from all sources, and the brilliant Potter soundtracks are definitely a wonderful way to start.
