Video: J.K. Rowling discusses “The Casual Vacancy” with Charlie Rose and Gayle King on “CBS This Morning”

Earlier this morning, J.K. Rowling appeared on the show CBS This Morning and sat down to discuss her latest adult novel, The Casual Vacancy, with Charlie Rose and Gayle King. We now have the video from this interview above.

During the Interview, Gayle King asked Ms. Rowling, “Did you feel any pressure when you were writing this book?”

JKR: “Yes and no! Obviously I was aware that people were expecting and waiting, and people were asking me all the time, literally in the street, “What are you doing?”, but at the same time I was relishing having a private world in my head again that no one knew about. It was fun.”

Gayle King went on to say that a group of fans were outside since early in the morning and when she asked them why, the fans stated, “Because she changed our lives! She taught us friendship, loyalty, love, and it’s something that society does not stress for us, but that is what she does.”
