Announcing the winners of the MuggleNet Graphic Art Contest with MinaLima
During LeakyCon this past Summer, MuggleNet teamed up with the Graphic Artists from the Harry Potter film franchise, Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mina (collectively known as MinaLima), to bring you, the fans, an incredible contest with a one-of-a-kind prize: The first replication of the actual Quibbler magazine cover art as seen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. This unique piece is framed and signed by the graphic artists themselves and can be seen right here.
We received so many great entries to this contest, which was designed to allow fans to create a unique graphic art piece that would appear in the magical world.
After selecting the Top 25, we asked you to vote for your favorites and narrowed the field down to the Top 10. These pieces were sent to MinaLima and evaluated for originality, interpretation, artistry, and overall sense of magic! MinaLima has send back the following Top 5 winners in order:
- Grand Prize Winner: Annual Broom Race of Sweden by Gabie Tanjutco
- 2nd Place:Advanced Defensive Spells by Felipe Gabriel
- 3rd Place:Exploding Snap by Johann Schumacher
- 4th Place:Nosebleed Nougat by Laurie Gautreau
- 5th Place:Hogwarts for the Cup by Diana Bermudez
The 2nd – 5th place winners will each be sent a MuggleNet T-shirt.
