‘Today’ broadcast from Universal canceled – Opening date still in question

Speculation about the opening date announcement for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley expansion area was running high this week as NBC’s Today was scheduled for a LIVE broadcast from the Universal grounds. Why else would they be there if it weren’t for something special to be announced?

However, the Orlando Sentinel has just announced that the Today show set for Friday morning has just been canceled. In the article, Universal Orlando spokesman Tom Schroeder stated,

“Plans for live broadcasts are ever-changing things. Any attempt to draw conclusions beyond that would just be wrong.”
