“Fantastic Beasts” will feature UK and US wizards

The Warner Bros. Entertainment UK, Ireland, and Spain president, Josh Berger, spoke this week at a conference about the impact of the Potter films on the British film industry, as well as the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film.

Berger stated that the Potter series was very important for the British special effects film industry, saying that,

All of a sudden, heavy effects movies were looking to come to Britain. There was an expansion of the skill base, the assets, the sheer numbers of people working in the industry. Gravity in a way is a crowning achievement.‎

But while Berger spoke about the impact of the films on the industry, as well as the important decision to buy the Leavesden Studios where the Making of Harry Potter – Studio Tour London is housed, perhaps in more exciting news, he also mentioned the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film.  Berger revealed that

Fantastic Beasts is set in 1920s New York and features U.S. and British wizards.

Unfortunately, Berger didn’t reveal anything more about the script or the film, so we’ll have to wait for any more tantalizing hints that come our way! Are there any witches and wizards that you would like to see featured in the film? Whom do you hope appears? Let us know your thoughts!
