Have Yourself a Very Geeky Christmas market event announced!

by Sophie Reid · October 30, 2014

Can you believe that Christmas is already beginning to creep up on us? Have you started thinking about your Christmas shopping, yet? Well, if you’re wondering what to get the geeky fan in your life (or even as a treat for yourself) and live near Manchester, UK, then you need to make sure that you get yourself down to Macclesfield Senior Citizen’s Hall on December 13 for the second Have Yourself a Very Geeky Christmas event. Have Yourself a Very Geeky Christmas returns this year for one afternoon in December, 12-4 p.m. GMT.

The event is described as

an unofficial fan-run event [that] came to fruition because we fall under the umbrella of big fans of all things geeky.

On 13 December – between 12pm and 4pm, Macclesfield Senior Citizen’s Hall, [i]n Macclesfield – near Manchester, UK [-] will be full of stalls held by local crafters who draw inspiration from their favourite books, films, and television programmes. Best of all, it’s free to come and have a browse!

There will also be a tea room, named Madam Puddifoot’s, which will sell a selection of fandom-named drinks – including Butterbeer!

The event will be raising money for the Owl Experience Rescue Sanctuary, which relies on donations to help rescue injured owls and return them to the wild.

There will also be

plenty of activities going on throughout the day too – our popular geeky quiz will make a return appearance, with lots of categories spanning the geekiverse, as well as live acoustic music from acts such as Irish act Romilda Vane and [t]he Chocolate Cauldrons. A free craft workshop will also be taking place for anyone to get involved with – as well as a comic drawing workshop with a local comic book artist!

Check out the poster below, and see the official Facebook page for more details about the event.

Did you attend last year? Will you be attending again this year? Let us know!

have yourself a very geeky christmas
