Social Roundup: the Hogwarts Express, Rugby, and Red Nose Day

by Sophie Reid · March 15, 2015

This week’s social roundup sees the Potter stars get involved with charity, attend parties, and rugby matches, as well as hop aboard the Hogwarts Express once again.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) was one of many of the stars who got involved with Red Nose Day, helping to raise money for Comic Relief, and teasing fans with her appearance:

Don't miss @rednoseday tonight on @BBCOne from 7pm… You might see a familiar face… #RND15

— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) March 13, 2015

Pottermore also reminded Potter fans that J.K. Rowling’s books, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages, were originally written to raise money for Comic Relief:

What did the Golden Snitch replace in Quidditch? Find out and support @ComicRelief‘s #RND15: http://t.co/iO3mJHiwWe pic.twitter.com/efKsoks9IJ

Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) reminded fans to donate to the cause:

Had to leave @comicrelief after the surreal genius of No Direction. Laugh, cry & text DERMOT to 70005 to give £5. Try it, you'll like it.

— Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) March 13, 2015

J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to share her excitement at the upcoming Scotland v England rugby match, also sharing important Potter information about her agent, Neil Blair:

Tomorrow, @Scotlandteam play England at rugby. This http://t.co/U490nc3zi5 explains why wizards ALWAYS support Scotland. Please RT! #AsOne

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) March 13, 2015

I'll be there with my agent @NeilBlairTBP, who supports England. Can our long friendship survive #CalcuttaCup? Watch this space.

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) March 13, 2015

.@NeilBlairTBP is also a Hufflepuff. I had him tested.

.@NeilBlairTBP and I pre-match. Wonder who'll be smiling later? #backingblue pic.twitter.com/7fRsArt3vx

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) March 14, 2015

Later, Jo updated fans on the match situation:

.@Scotlandteam put up a great fight but @NeilBlairTBP is smiling a TAD more than I am.

Chris Rankin AKA Percy Weasley attended a special event for the new Hogwarts Express feature at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – the Making of Harry Potter:

In other news, Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom) made his Instagram account public. This enabled him to share some great pictures with us, including this one from a recent Jamie Oliver party, where Matt is pictured with his brother, Antony Lewis:

Top night at @jamieoliver’s party with @mranthonylewis. Awesome times!

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.

Potter Quote

“I suggest you both go up to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, of Ravenclaw, and Mr. Summers, of Hufflepuff, both of whom decided to age themselves up a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards is anything like as fine as yours.”
