Universal Orlando Diagon Alley to pick up Thea Award this weekend

You might remember a little while ago we posted the exciting news that the Universal Orlando Wizarding World of Harry Potter is going to receive a Thea Award. The award itself, which has been specially created for the park, is called the Paragon Award and honors the new Diagon Alley expansion of the park. The award will be given to the theme park by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) as part of the annual TEA Summit this weekend.

The Thea Awards Gala itself is to take place this coming weekend, on March 21.

The theme park is also set to receive two other awards. The award for Best Attraction goes to the ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts while the Award for Technical Excellence goes to the Interactive Wands at the park. You can learn more about the event and the awards here.

The TEA Summit will take place over the next two days. Among the events will be a case study of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will take place on Friday, March 20. Throughout the weekend, TEA will be sharing coverage from the event, and you can follow along on Twitter using #TEAsummit.
