HogCon: Exhibition Quidditch – Part 2

After a brief interruption from an escaped St Mungo’s patient and former Death Eater, the Exhibition Quidditch game between Harry Potter’s Gryffindor team and Draco Malfoy’s all-Slytherin team is underway with Lee Jordan and Luna Scamander in the announcer’s box…

Lee: Ginny wins the Quaffle and zooms up the pitch.

(Loud roar from Luna’s lion-head hat.)

Luna: I do like her. She has always been very nice. I hear she’s a good Quidditch player, too.

(Crowd goes wild.)

Luna: Oh, look at that; she’s scored.

Lee: Right, so that’s ten to nothing, Gryffindor. Pucey with the Quaffle. George lodges a Bludger. Pucey ducks, nearly knocked off his broom—

Luna: I do hope he doesn’t make it, but Ron was not always the best Keeper—

Lee: Come on, Ron!

Luna: “Weasley is our King”… Though I do wonder at how he ever convinced Hermione to marry him. He was quite unkind to her from—

Lee: Pucey shoots…. Ron saves the Quaffle. Wealsey, you are still our king. Ron passes to Ginny—

Luna: Oh, that mean boy – what’s his name? He’s flying right at her. Watch out, Ginny!

(McGonagall scowls at our flighty friend but says nothing.)

Lee: Ginny ducks as Flint makes to tackle her in the air—a blatantly illegal move. Ginny moves into place for the penalty shot, shoots, SCORES! Ha! In your face, Flint!

McGonagall: Jordan!

Lee: Right, sorry Professor. 20 to nothing, Gryffindor. Bletchley with the Quaffle heads up the pitch…

Luna: Oh, look, Teddy Lupin is leading the stands in “Weasley is our King.” I do love that song. And he’s made his hair red and gold. He’s a Metamorphmagus like his mother, Tonks.

Lee: Bletchley ducks George’s Bludger, rolling mid-air. Ouch… that had to hurt. Bletchley crashes into Malfoy. Angelina with the Quaffle.

After the first 15 minutes of the Exhibition Quidditch match, Harry’s team is in the lead 20 to 0. It’s still anybody’s game.
