Social Roundup: Fantastic Beasts, Helium Balloons, and 2015 Charity Awards

by Kevin Assam · June 21, 2015

Earlier this week saw the second big casting reveal for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the grand recipient of the 2015 Charity Awards, and a certain beloved character get absolutely silly with the help of helium and Jimmy Fallon.

The most exciting bit of news this week named Katherine Waterston as Fantastic Beasts‘ Porpentina. Joining the previously announced Eddie Redmayne, we are slowly but surely seeing how the film is coming together.

I couldn't be happier with our Tina: Katherine Waterston! #FantasticBeasts https://t.co/VSTUdGYUrF

J.K. Rowling’s charity, Lumos, was also in the spotlight this week for being named The Overall Winner of the 2015 Charity Awards.

Still a little overwhelmed here @Lumos – thank you for all of the lovely words following last night's @Charity_Awards pic.twitter.com/QqL5TYEN3H

With so much buzz once again surrounding the world of Harry Potter, it’s no wonder that Alan Rickman got carried away with one too many helium-filled balloons.

These same helium-filled balloons, by the way, may have come in handy to help diffuse some intense situations encountered by Jessie Cave.

I just said MORNING a bit too loudly and aggressively to a family of tourists in a lift and I think I put them off the city

— Jessie Cave (@jessiecave) June 19, 2015

To stop myself eating a complimentary cookie I threw it out the hotel window. Now I'm staring at it lying crumbled on the roof of a Volvo.

And finally, we got a peek at how Game of Thrones obsessed some of the cast members really are. Who knew the gentle soul that is Luna Lovegood enjoyed such a heart-wrenching series?

If you spoil Game of Thrones for me, then I will break you. (thanks!x)

— Rohan Gotobed (@Rohan_Gotobed) June 15, 2015

Great finale of #GameofThrones, featuring my sister among others. Loved the Shakespeare homages to Macbeth and Julius Caesar

Come to think of it, Harry Potter was just as much of an emotional roller coaster.

That concludes another edition of the Social Roundup. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more Fantastic Beasts casting news in the upcoming weeks. Be sure to let us know what your favorite moments of the week were.
