Emma Watson’s Latest Film Will Premiere at TIFF 2015

This year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will feature several films starring Potter alumni. Emma Watson‘s latest project, Colonia, which she co-stars in alongside David Thewlis (Professor Remus Lupin), will premiere at the festival alongside Eddie Redmayne’s (Newt Scamander) The Danish Girl; Anomolisa with David Thewlis; Brooklyn with Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley), Jim Broadbent (Professor Horace Slughorn), and Julie Walters (Molly Weasley); Lady in the Van with Dame Maggie Smith (Professor Minerva McGonagall), and Len and Company with Rhys Ifans (Xenophilius Lovegood).

Also, the first official photos from Colonia were released today, which you can check out below.

Colonia tells the story of Lena and Daniel, a young couple who become entangled in the Chilean military coup of 1973. Daniel (played by Daniel Brühl) is abducted by Pinochet’s secret police, and Lena tracks him to a sealed off area in the south part of the country, called Colonia Dignidad. The Colonia presents itself as a charitable mission run by lay preacher Paul Schäfer but in fact, is a place nobody has ever escaped from. Lena decides to join the cult in order to find Daniel.
